Yeah, but Berto KO'd by Cotto isn't a huge upset, it is Cotto were talking about.. not a Prescott.

I gotta say in the manner of a Khan? Probably David Haye.

I don't think there is any fight to convince anyone, I didn't really see Povetkin against someone in Wladimir's physical abilities to use a fight to describe how he would. It's mostly based on prediction here than fighting style to be honest with you. But if I have to then it will be the Chambers and Byrd fights. The man only had two 12 rounder fights but his experience in boxing in general is what got him here and what got his team the confidence to push for Wladimir specifically instead of other easier(on paper) options in Peter or Valuev. That's why I'm picking him to win this fight and also the other post where I explained why I expect him to win.

One thing should also be considered, look at the level of opposition this man has been fighter as a new professional, ever since he started and they're only putting him against "WTF" type of opponents, at least that's what I said every time they put him against far more experienced(professionally) opponents, especially the tournament and he shocked everyone by winning them all. Something tells me he will shock once again. Sorry for making it long but I will say again, my prediction is based on general thought than something specific, more like a risky "guess".

Alright. I would like to see Povetkin win, because he seems to give his best in the ring...but I dont' think he wins it. The kinds of guys they put WLAD against will only win if he has a mental relapse...that's the only chance I see, and it's slim.

    Fair enough.

Those are the guys available in the division right now and Wladimir is more forced to take this now or later than anything to be honest. If he doesn't fight him now then he will have to later and if he plans to unify he needs to take care of mandatories and this guy is the IBF mandatory which means instant strip down the line if Wladimir doesn't take it. Povetkin's team must know/see something we don't for rushing him SPECIFICALLY to Wladimir's title than anyone elses when they have other easier options if they wanted.

Cherry pick?, when did Khan cherry pick? :patsch

The man is a new professional and was rising like all the rest did, if he was a cherry picker then Prescott wasn't going to be his next opponent and rated as a major step-up.

It's called aggression, Wladimir will need to stay active in this fight and if Povetkin takes is punches Wladimir will get tired down the line and Povetkin is far more skilled than Peter to be helpless against a jab/grab tactic in my opinion. Thompson isn't a big major either yet he stunned Wladimir late in that fight(around the 7th) as Wladimir was getting seriously tired. Povetkin will be in his face all night and if he can take his punches then Wladimir will be in trouble, all he needs to do is stay active and Povetkin already proved he has excellent stamina.
