Damn right he should! When a challenger calls out the champ and is his best option, the champ should make an offer.

Solis is far from the best option. That would be helenius or fury.

I realize it's fun to try to predict what will happen, but fans shouldn't try to justify matchups they disapprove of based on the business angle. Instead they should demand the best fights possible and hold the promoters/fighters accountable if the good fights don't happen.

Re. Fury/Cunningham, the rumor is the winner will get a title shot. It is a good enough fight to be a title eliminator--whether it's an official eliminator or not.

As far as Solis goes, I wouldn't mind seeing that fight, provided Solis is in shape. Surely it's better then Wlad facing this or that inexperienced prospect a la Wach. But if Fury and/or Helenius are legit options then it would probably be more fun for the fans to see one of those fights. Both would be entertaining while they last.

This might be Helenius' last opportunity because it is questionable whether he can win an eliminator or a paper title--it might be now or never for RH. I would hope that Wlad's team would up the offer to around 1 mil for Helenius or Fury given how well such a fight would sell.
