Aslong as you have Sky Sports you'll be fine for the Khan fight. It's not impossible that Khan will be on the SBO, but it's extremely unlikely. The main reasons are costs and technical issues. The warren event would begin at around 8 and run till midnight including the chisora fight, which is the main event effectively. They would then have to fill 4 and half hours until Khan comes out using the non broadcasted Warren fights and then eventually into the Ortiz undercard of the Khan fight, all the while going out on air on the SBO event channel, running the crew, the studio, the commentators, long past the main event being on closing at around 5.30am.. This is before you even taking into account TK's financial 'issues and demands', It's far more likely that at midnight, the SBO cuts off. Then a few hours later they broadcast it sperately on SS1
I hope it is on ITV I definitely wouldn't want to pay to have to sit up all night to watch it. Team Khan missed a trick here with putting it live in America, it'll be far too late for people to want to pay to watch it live here. I really think he should have organized the fight in the UK...its likely to be his last fight with a world title! ....and I don't want to have to sit up all night waiting on him to get KO'd! :bbb
Thats intresting. Warren can only blame himself the bill he put together was not as good as Mag 7 even though he promised more.
Yep but by that point Hatton was a great income for Sky, didn't really matter who the opponent, you could get a very profitable event even for a Vegas prime fight. Khan's problem is Sky don't believe in him because when he was on UK primetime on SBO the buys he was getting were not what they hoped for, even for the fight which was his title shot, and so putting him on SBO at 4.30am against a fight which is less marketable.. You can understand their concerns
Khan's toughest test of his career, and apart from actual Boxing fans, not many people really know about this... while majorly hyped up within Boxing circles, little to no hype outside of it. Poor from a marquee name british fighter.
Team Khan are appalling. They just don't seem to understand that it doesn't matter IF Khan is going to become a worldwide super megastar in the future, and do millions of PPV sales, in 2010 he isn't. They have to make an offer that makes business sense for THIS fight, because in 6 fights time, let's say he is a superstar, I'm sure TK won't be saying "oh yeah let's give sky a great deal with our next bout because when we were fighting Maidana they give us a good deal", not a chance, they will take the best most lucrative deal possible, as every other fighter would. They live in cloud cuckoo land
What a night of boxing it will be... The big Warren show in the ealy evening.... Chisora vs Klit at night and Khan vs Maidana in the early hours of the morning it could be twelve hours long!! I can't wait.
sky pick this up imo, teh only problem is that warren is a ppv and khan would most liekly be a ppv, cant have 2 ppv in a month so sky will try and merge it all into one. warren is the key here, if he buys the uktv rights for khans fight and packages it with his bill it will be a goer...
