If you were in Carl Froch's corner preparing him for his upcoming fight against Andre Ward, what names do you think would be ideal, yet realistic, as sparring opponents for Froch to prepare for Ward? Who would you seek out?

For those with a bit more access to inside information on Froch than myself and others, who is he most likely to spar in preparation for Ward?

Unlike Kessler did, this is something that I believe Froch should take much more in to consideration, as Ward is a very unique fighter, and sparring your normal sparring partners in preparation just isn't going to cut it. And if the Carl Froch that fought Andre Dirrell shows up, forget it.

    Not too shabby.

I'm assuming you're referring to who he likely will spar as opposed to who he should spar, as I believe perhaps maybe they have sparred in the recent past? Either way, it'd be good work for Froch.

However, if it were up to me, I'd have Froch spar one opponent for 4 rounds, a 2nd opponent for 4 rounds, and Jean Pascal for the last 4 rounds. Pascal after 7 or 8 rounds is a far cry from Ward after 7 or 8 rounds, whereas Pascal's first 4 rounds are much more similar to Wards last 4 rounds.

I think Froch should spar with a "Billy Goat" as SOB Ward will plan on butting him, his personal referee called SOB"s butts OK, as long as it is Billy Goat Ward would is doing the butting. Froch needs to knock Ward out to get a draw!

Considering the fight is in NJ again he might spar with Quillin at he did last time when he moves his camp to the US.

Some good southpaws. Magee would be obvious.

Kessler didn't spar southpaws for Ward AFAIK.

    luis garcia and james degale..

luis was an awesome amateur and as a pro is now racking up the wins. he has worked with carl before in ireland where they are based at so for me world class knowledge in the ring he'd be my choice.

degale, well again he is a class act, forget the loss with groves and you have one of the best southpaw switch hitters around so again that would also be my choice.

to make the sparring even more lifelike i'd round robin them so they would swap 2 rounds a piece. 10-12 rounds of that and you are preparing well.

Personally I think a mixture of sparring opponents would be best

    Degale and Groves

Affordable and combined can do most of what Ward does

Definitely a mixture of sparring, I reckon he'll spar alot of the lads on the GB Olympic squad, he trained alongside them in all his previous fights
