Jones looked great in thrashing Chael, but in all fairness, putting a middleweight whose only strength is wrestling in with a gigantic lightheavyweight who has never been taken down was always going to make him look great. If you put the best welterweight kickboxer (Condit?) in the cage with Anderson Silva in a 185lbs fight, Anderson would doubtlessly look transcendental as well. I think a lot of people are starting to consider Jones superior to the best version of Anderson Silva, ability-wise. I'm not ready to go down that road quite yet. If Anderson had never been dominated for 4.5 rounds by (and let us not forget this) a ridiculoulsy juiced-up 16.9/1 testosterone ratio Sonnen, Anderson would not be viewed as having a vulnerability to wrestlers, as he handled Sonnen second time out and Hendo and Okami in impressive fashion, even if sometimes he couldn't stop the shot. Will the pendulum swing back the other way once Jones has his 'Sonnen' night? Right now it seems a stretch to think that anyone could beat Jones, he just looks that dominant and that good, but someone out there must be able to take him into some deep waters. I don't think Gustafsson or Teixeira or Davis are close to having the necessary skillsets. If Machida can keep the fight standing vs Bones it could be him... but it's highly unlikely someone as small as Machida will be able to keep the fight standing against a takedown Zen Master like Jones. I think the hope was that it'd be Cormier, but DC looked unspectacular against Mir and has now taken to calling out Roy Nelson(?), so it seems like he's thought better of it and wants to stay at heavy. Although I think Anderson is, all-round, a more brilliant fighter than Bones, stylistically and taking size into consideration, I don't think Anderson would have much of a chance against Jones, JBJ's strength and takedowns would be too much. So realistically you have to look upwards. Velasquez, dos Santos, Cormier and Werdum are the top four heavyweights just now I think, although Overeem, Bigfoot, Nelson, Hunt and Browne also provide considerable physical threats to a lower-weight guy. Who do you think would give Jones the toughest night? I think I'd take Cain to beat Jon, probably Junior as well, and then Cormier and Werdum have a fighting chance. Don't fancy anyone else to beat him, though for some bizarre reason I quite like the idea of Jones vs Big Country! Decent introduction to heavyweight for Bones whenever he's ready to dip his toe (pardon the pun)?
