In all seriousness, I want to see this CST80. Unless Hopkins has deteriorated far more than I imagine. I *know* I'm in the minority. But if what Loeffler said was true, I still don't believe BJS will face him. And I don't think Jacobs will, either. And I definitely don't believe Canelo will face him. I know it WON'T be Ward, but I figured I'd throw him in as an option for good measure. :smoke
I do too, and I'm sticking to my guns as well, I think BHop will give him more troubles than most seem to think he will, I don't think he'll win but he'll steal a round here and there and see the final bell. I think Canelo will end up getting stripped or go for a unification with Jacobs or Saunders before he faces GGG, and even if he unifies with them he might still end up dropping the titles.
Im holding out for the Alverez fight to get made. K2 have been talking strongly recently about taking the mandatory this time. Id quite like to see the Hopkins fight but this Canelo catchweight drama has been going on so long now i wana see it concluded one way or another, i dont want Golovkins eye taken off the ball on this by some interesting but generally pointless fight.
I understand that view point. Entirely reasonable. However, I'm inclined to believe it's still far-fetched if Golovkin's team is even publicly considering Hopkins as an alternative. And of the list of fighters Loeffler listed, Hopkins is the only one I believe who truly wants to face Gennady. Will be interested to see what plays out. :good
Bhop (old man) will probably sacrifice himself to the (triple god) to save the ginger (virgin). It's an epic move, if you think about it.
I'm not convinced it will be September (because I could imagine it being moved due to another Mayweather-Pacquiao farce) but I think he and Alvarez will fight at some point this year (provided Alavrez beats Khan). If Alvarez says 155 or he vacates then I think GGG should take the fight at 155, because he's the only one who there is more than a remote chance of fighting GGG that will turn him into a crossover star, would be his biggest payday to date and I think GGG would win anyway, and I also have a feeling Canelo isn't making that weight easy either. I also think Canelo should take it for the purposes of his reputation. If he loses, so what, his loss to Mayweather didn't hurt him that much. De La Hoya wasn't hurt by all the loses he had.
