Hopkins. Either Alvarez vacates or the WBC come up with something insane to make him keep the belt. BJS isn't going to take his beating. Even if Jacobs wants the fight, Al won't let him. Ward is up for his first full on LHW fight and if he gets past it either fights Kova in the ring or in court. Other option isn't valid, because he's fighting B-Hop when the others fall trough, which they will.
Don't rule out Saunders taking the fight, if Alvarez doesn't. I think they was looking at a Eubank Jr rematch but it's sounds like that's gone tits up. He has a defence they will announce next week (I'd guess v Tommy Langford from his own stable) then he's short on big names. Murray and Macklin was both saying GGG might be too good and didn't really want to fight him but did anyway, Saunders is of a similar mentality I think. Not like Jacobs /Lara /Quillin /Ward who act like they do, but really are really just pulling the wool over people's eyes.
Backlash? I think you're massively overating how much anyone outside a few posters on boxing forums would care one way or another. I'm not saying it's a good idea for GGG to fight Hopkins, (though unless the Old Man really got old I think he makes a fight of it), but BHops is still a bigger name to the casual fan than Ward I think. Anyways, I think it's clear that Canelo is the fight K2 want - and I think that, ultimately they will bend a little on the catchweight, if that's what it takes. Unfortunately I'm far from sure that GBP want the fight (yet) whether at 155, 160 or anywhere in between - there may well be some merit to the idea that Bhops has offered the fight as a concession to K2 if Canelo ultimately elects not to fight Golovkin in September.
It will be Hopkins, cause canelo will drop the belt and wait out till golovkin will move up to super middle
I only go occasionally, but I'm not sure you're right. GGG seems to have been doing increasingly good gate sales against the Rubios and Lemieuxs of the world - do you not think people would buy tickets to see him face the legendary BHops? Maybe I'm wrong though. I will defer to your greater experience in these matters.:smooch
There won't a fight for a vacant title, because Golovkin already is the interim champion. If Canelo vacates, GGG instantly gets promoted to full WBC champ without ever stepping in a ring.
Randy Crawford is one of my favorite singers. Her voice is so soothing. She doesn't need to use tricks or devices like some other singers do. She is truly an underrated entertainer.
I still think there's a decent chance of Alvarez, but more likely Saunders. If and when Alvarez vacates, he surely won't resist a chance to become undisputed champ, even if he acknowledges it as slim. He'll have got a voluntary in, and it seems Eubank has ****ed the rematch for now. Plus, he evidently knows that although he's good, he's definitely beatable. And not just by Golovkin. I don't see him risking losing out on such a lucrative fight, in a similar manner to Charles Martin, actually. There we go, I've convinced myself.
51yo Bernard Hopkins makes history by stepping in the ring vs GGG, with many of people in boxing giving him a chance. Its very important that he comes at 160 for history, if he wins he gets a solid nomination as the GOAT. If he loses, hr gains respect for standing up to Kovalev & GGG when everybody found an excuse to duck them :smoke
You are missing the part where 51yo Bernard Hopkins is chasing the top 2 punchers in boxing today, when Adonis needs to work up emotions just to look in the eyes of Kovalev & Canelo created 155. Its all Bernard Hopkins forcing these fights 90% of boxing, including many GGG fans will be expecting Hopkins to make history :smoke
Ward's counter offer was sent after Lemiuex was signed and was for 2017. Who's gonna want fight Ward directly after his KO1 loss to KOvalev.atsch
