Based on their style, who would have rough time in the office if they face Jermell Charlo? Bud or Canelo.

For some strange reason, I think Charlo beats both.

Canelo will have it harder because Charlo will be more energetic and stronger in a real sense going up.

But once he goes up and has to come down again it might very well drain him because he will have packed on muscle to fight at 168lbs.

Honestly if Charlo beats Canelo I expect him to stay at 168lbs. Why give up those belts?

Clenelo because even though Charlo is going up 2 weight classes, the guy is a massive weight bully. I think we're going to see a razor sharp and super powerful Charlo in there with Clenelo.

Only way the Bud fight happens is if Charlo drops back down to 154 and in that case, he'll be drained to death like Spence.

Jermell will have a hard time with both, he's getting stopped by both of them most likely.

Canelo might be a bit easier in some regards as he'll likely try to walk Charlo down and so will be right in front of him to be hit, but of course Canelo will slip and land hard counters and eventually I see Canelo KOing him in brutal fashion.

Crawford will be harder to pin down, he'll use his clever movement to stay off the line, so Charlo will struggle more to land his shots and mount any kind of meaningful offence. I think he'll do better than Spence, simply because his speed, power and less predictable approach but in the end Crawford's counter punching will again see Charlo stopped, though the ending probably won't be as brutal as the Canelo stoppage.

So Crawford wins more rounds but Canelo ends it in more emphatically.

Both guys beat Charlo and both will be tough but Canelo might be easier. He is more conventional and the heavier weight should give Charlo more power but at the expense of speed. He should still have a speed advantage against Canelo.

I hope Charlo doesn’t move down because when Crawdad knocks him out, we will have to hear about another guy being drained. Crawford has been drained his whole career and he’s old. I’d like to see Crawford spark both Charlo brothers on the same night. A classic two for one deal. Promoters, make it happen!

Neither. Yea Charlo at his best is very skilled, but he fights in spurts, kind of falls asleep at times and loses focus and you can find his chin.
Against the bigger Canelo that's suicide.
Crawford although smaller, is faster than him, way more fluid with his upper body, defense, and combos, and most important better footwork.
Charlo seems to fight too wound up.

Both guys beat him pretty handily IMO but I'm really looking forward to watch Bud destroy this Busta if he doesn't Retire after Canelo which I suspect he will.

    Exactly...he's being underestimated against both.

So Charlo wouldn't be completely brain dead and drained like Spence if he goes up to 168 and then drops back down to 154?

That would be an excuse with no legs?

It's another move up for Bud...he's the smaller man.

I think Canelo would have an easier time.

In fact, I think Canelo would be the favourite if they fought...not sure if Bud would be.

Charlo is a belt holder at 154. Because he accepted a fight at 168 doesn’t mean he’s a legit SMW. He’s enjoyed size advantage for a long time. If he can no longer make 154, he should move up.

Spence was a belt holder until Crawdad knocked his ass out. How can a guy who holds a belt at a weight for years complain about being drained? If Canelo loses, do you think he will complain about being drained because he fought a few fights at 175?

This is what happens when guys jump around weight classes or boil down to meet a weight below their natural weight to get an advantage. Once you do that, you no longer have the excuse of being weight drained. If you take a fight outside of your weight class at a lower weight, it’s understandable but if you are a long time belt holder, saying you are drained is a weak excuse.

Without Canelo in the division what are SMW belts worth? SMW has only occasionally been a lucrative division and it only recently became so again when Canelo moved up.

If there are better fights at 154/160 - why wouldn't Charlo go after those instead? Obviously, a fight with Bud Crawford at 154 is worth a hell of a lot more than a fight with Caleb Plant or even Benavidez at 168 lbs.

If Charlo beats Canelo he will be a big name himself. And there probably would be a rematch.
