GGG is among the most exciting fighters today and appears to be the worlds best middleweight. Lomachenko is arguably the greatest amateur in history and is stepping up big time in only his second pro fight.

Golovkin is already 31 and yet to land a defining fight. Loma is 26 and already off like a fire *******. GGG is the more exciting but this may change. Which fighter has the most upside and will have the greater career?

    Golovkin

He's already done a decent amount relative to Lomachenko. Although Loma can pick up a better individual win than Golovkin has if he beats Salido (who I've never been quite as high on as others over recent years).

Age is a factor here, though, and it isn't on Golovkin's side.

Lomachenko has the nature of being a featherweight on his side too, so multiple division titles and potential for relative "super fights" seem a lot clearer likelihood for him.

Loma has a shot at doing something thats never been done before in boxing.... Toss up really, GGG is the future kingpin at MW, and there will be many superfights waiting for him in the future. We shall see who does better, only time will tell

Honestly I think its difficult to predict, but think loma has a greater upside being younger and starting his career against stiffer comp. Of course we'll have to wait and see how he responds to stepping up, but I think he'll pass with flying colors.

Interesting point about super fights waiting. Hopefully that will be the case with both fighters in the future.

I think I'll go for Loma, based upon potential.

Thats what I'm thinking. GGG's age and inability to land big fights puts him at a disadvantage in my opinion. And while he hasn't taken a lot of punishment he may when he steps up in comp which is another thing that could eventually slow his progress. Hopefully not though.

Gotta go with Loma based solely on age and potential.

GGG is starting to become a draw and is being hyped heavily by HBO, so you will likely see guys starting to line up to fight him since he maybe the money man at 160-168.

Loma is also being hyped by HBO but also has Top Rank in his corner. While I am not a big fan of bobs, he is perhaps the best at creating stars in the business (the problem is after they become the stars).

So I see both guys getting big fights (GGG would do better with a Golden boy or even bob in North America) but I agree with the age POV
