In anybody's opinion who knows the rules of boxing, Ward already lost his 0 against Kessler. If the same fight was fought outside of Oakland, with a referee that could see, Ward gets dq'd.

For the moment, Ward has one and only one better win than Bute. That's Kessler, who had problems with his eyes. Then, he beat Allan Green. Come on! Don't tell me that was better comptetition. Next: Bika. Bute has already beaten him. No better comptetition there either. When the semi-finals begin, if they ever begin (we don't know with that tournament) then Ward will be facing good opposition again.

Ward facing better competition is bull**** for the moment. You can be one thousand to say a false statement, that doesn't make it true.

Everyone's leftovers... Kessler was beaten by Calzaghe... Miranda could barely walk after being hammered by Pavlik and Abraham... Green was benten by the same Miranda that could barely walk after being hammered by Pavlik and Abraham...

And there goes Ward's resume.Too easy, really...

Hey... I completely agree with you... Ward has only one good win and thats a half blind Kessler.

I think safety boxers like WARD and BUTE are a lot alike...:hey

I think that both guys don't entirely control their situation. Bute has nobody to fight right now at 168, but he doesn't want to go to 175 now because he feels that coming back to 168 to face the S6 winner would be too hard.

It wasn't Ward's choice to fight Green and then Bika. The S6 situation doesn't give him a choice. I think that Ward wants the S6 to be over as much as Bute wants it, so they both have options.

I think Ward loves the Oracle and Bute is fond of the bell centre too... I dont think these guys will ever fight each other. They don't like steeping out of their comfort zone :hey

The problem with Ward is that when he beat Kessler, his strategy was very good. But now I think he keeps using this strategy wich will not be as good against every other fighter. Good fighters will train for it, will adapt, etc. Or against some fighters it will be no good style wise.

What makes me think this is the way he fought Green. Yes he won, yes he won every round, but he didnt need to fight this kind of fight. So it's why I think he is too confortable right now and it will cost him sometimes. I'm not saying he will never change, I'm saying it looked like that and if he dont change the way he fight, he will be beaten by Bute, Abraham and such.

I sure hope I'm wrong about it, Ward/Bute is a fight I wish to see as soon as it can be.

The minute Billy Goat Ward steps out of Oakland, preferably outside USA, he gets DQ'd.

when your champion YOU get to decide where your going to fight....if the challenger wants the belt he has to come and get it.....

its the way boxing always has been

unless its a unification, or purse bid....

Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got "all" his fights in his home town with his personal referee. Ward would not allow Bute to fight in the tournament. The tournament is crooked.

Bute is faster than Ward, better height and reach, punches much harder, by far, better defense, better variety of punches. Ward is a volume puncher only who also depends on his head and other cheating methods.

Ward will lose or atleast come close to losing to either AA or Froch in the final of the S6. AA as already noted and Froch because it would be fire vs fire.

Bute is older but looks really sturdy and comfortable, however he has been shaken very badly before and knocked down.
Ward is facing tougher opposition but his style blends well to most opponents. He is cagey and does not take too many punches. Be it because of his "head butting" or what have you, he avoids damage.
Either way, I can see Bute losing his "0" first but if Ward faces someone fast afoot and hand, he won't have the luxury of such infighting. Then, he might lose once we see his present distance game and not the "ground and pound method".
