No he fought the must vulnerable top guy which was Thurman, which he went 1 year and 11 months from fighting. Then came back and got beat up in a fight against a C+ level fighter. Instead of taking on Spence who invited Pac in the ring and challenged him to fight next. Pac saw that Thurman wasn't the same dangerous fighter he once was and pick him to fight instead of Spence. For the record, Thurman didn't have the best resume in WW. Shawn Porter has the best resume next to Pac in WW.
He can fight a washerwoman at this stage and still probably retain my eternal admiration. I don't know. I'd like a Floyd rematch, but I don't see Floyd coming back to authentic competition, so, failing that, I'd like to see him in with Spence if Errol can first show that he still has the goods against a reasonably stern opponent.
No, he meant the Thurman that looked like at his best physically in this fight, who trained like there's no tomorrow in anticipation of the biggest match of his career, who performed like a beast and truly one of his finest boxing in recent years. He just got clipped by Pac too early, and again later in the round, and that was the difference. That Thurman would still put everyone in the WW division to school not named Pacquiao, Spence or Crawford. Heck he'd give an even fight against any of those three still. Well assuming Pac hasn't exposed his glass body though.
Manny should wear Wilder's costume for his next fight. With those calves he can handle it, show Wilder how real men do it.
The Shawn Porter who was beat by Thurman and the Errol Spence who went the distance with Mikey Garcia and went life and death with Porter? The same Keith Thurman who Floyd Mayweather avoided. Pacquiao has nothing left to prove.
Mayweather didn't avoid no Thurman LOL Thurman was like up and coming prospect at the time. Clearly wasn't a proven fighter yet with no major wins. What do Spence going the distance with Garcia have to do with anything? He beat up Garcia for 12 straight rounds. Yes Spence, fighter Thurman ducked and along with Pac. Spence got him in the ring and he lied and said yes we can fight, but didn't.
If this was 7+ years ago, we all know Manny fights all of them and beats them all convincingly. He’s way past his prime (and still elite), so he deserves the right to pick and choose who he wants to fight now. If he doesn’t want to get in there with P4P’ers, I’m not mad at him. He’s done it his whole career, taking on bigger guys and champs everywhere. Quit hating. The guy is north of 40 in a division built for prime fighters.
