In my opinion, that's a pretty good bet. However, Arum and some on this board think Cotto can outbox for 12 rounds and take the decision. If Cotto could manage not to get knocked out or seriously hurt, he could take the decision. However, Kirkland has some serious power and is tough as nails. Interesting fight.

I thinkrkand KO's him personally. The fights ive seen Kirkland in he starts fast, that might be an understatement also. I dont know how his chin is yet so i cant be for sure. But if its decent for the weight he's at coupled with the fact cotto isnt a devestating puncher at 47 and even less so at 54, im going with Kirkland by KO in 9.

I disagree a fight against cintron could help cotto if he beats him in a very convincing and devastating way... we know they both dont like each other and it would do well number wise taking place in msg... im hoping for a margarito rematch in mid 09 before the parade in ny... I think cotto deserves the rematch taking place in msg:D

Why would he fight James Kirkland in a comeback fight? Makes no sense.

If I was Cotto's management, I wouldn't let him back in with Judah. He won the fight, but Judah is too dangerous to simply grant a rematch to for a comeback fight.

lol, holy crap . . are you serious dude. If thats your opinion then cool, but i swear i saw judah getting steam rolled in the fight and not really hurting cotto as badly as people thought.

To my understanding Arum mentioned it. James Kirkland is the exact definition of the type of fighter Cotto shouldnt go up against.

If Arum mentioned it then he is on some good stuff. Cotto's my favorite fighter and I don't want to see him in the same ring with Kirkland.

especilally right after the marg fight. If it happens Cotto should start handing out pink slips to his camp
