After Nathan Cleverleys sound victory tonight, who will he fight next? Will he get a WBO title shot against Juergen Brehner or maybe Karo Murat. In all probability it will be a couple of tune up fights at European level. But a title shot wihin the year is a certainty! British boxing is looking up!

Mahamed Aripgadzhiev. Star amateur won a silver medal at both the World Championships and the Olympics (losing to one Andre Ward) he has a pressure style which is something Clev hasn't faced yet.

I think that Clev will take a couple of Euro defences in his next few fights... I don't want to see Clev rushed and all this quick potential go to waste because they have rushed things along...:good

Exactly he has some momentum now and the worst thing that could happen to him is for him to lose it either by being inactive or getting a beating. Until he can comit to Boxing full time I don't mind seeing him taking another 2/3 defense's before stepping up to world level.

Maximum 3 defence's of European. Don't wanna see him have to many European fights as he will get stuck into that type of boxing and level. Like to see him mix with a ex world champion this year who's still got a bit about himself and then have crack at World Title early 2011.

I agree. I think he should look at having two defense's of his title and provided he comes through them scotch free then after he finishes uni he could finish off the year with a world title shot.

He needs to go full time for a year at the least before considering going for a World Title shot...:yep

Cleverley has got stacks of time on his hands to prepare at the right pace, in the right place with a mixed calibre of opponents to bring him along to where he needs to be...:yep

The only person he needs to stay away from is Tony Bellew because he will get knocked out...:bbb :bbb :bbb

Yep, theres no rush. He's only 23, he could see the year out with a couple a Euro defences and a fight against a world top 15 fighter and then see how things look from there.

Just went on Frank Warren's page and they we're indicating that he won't be until the summer so he can concentrate on his exams. Shame but understandable at the same time probably means that he won't get too tougher test next time out.

It must be added here after dickheads in the news like John Terry and Ashley Cole this last few weeks, what an actual role model Cleverley is. Commenwealth, British, European Champion all at age of 22 whilst studying for a Maths degree. Always polite, never any scandel.
A real credit to the sport of boxing.

Ed Robinson should pay Cleverley to do a PhD or whatever after he's finished his degree, he hasn't had to change his profile of him for years.
