What Top fighters will definitely not be in the final 4 fights for Floyd on Showtime? Next up Khan or Maidana . . . cannot see either guy getting a shot in the final 3 so if the do not get it this time they are out of the running. I am pretty sure we can rule out 154 unless it is a rematch with Canelo or Cotto and I cannot see Saul wanting to set foot back in the ring again with Money. . . GGG has an outside shot but has never fought in the division. @ WW We can rule out TR fighters . . . so no Pac, JMM or Bradley (unless one of these guys can get Bob to step aside for one fight. Porter, Brook, Alexander, Collazo and Paulie do not have a following. So it really leaves Thurman. @ Jr WW, no TR so no Prov and most guys do not have a name SO that leaves Danny Garcia . . . Maybe Lucas (Who I think they wanted to win between him and Garcia, if he looks good in the next couple of fights I say He could get a shot). So the guys I see getting a shot in the next 3 fights are Thurman, Garcia, Lucas Perhaps Cotto and Pac He could also look to unify if he beats Maidana next, then Porter and try to get bob to step aside for Bradley and a finale with Pac There are very few names with, very few marketable angles.
Khan then Maidana this year 2015 I think Thurman, if he fights 3 times this year they could all be good stoppage wins Hopefully he could fight Collazo, Porter then Maidana early next year after he loses to Floyd in September
Is he P4P Ranked . . . no, but he is a solid guy with some good wins and some close loses. Besides he has a strap and is coming off of one, if not his best wins of his career (which is Floyds pattern . . . fighting guys after a great win).
I understand your point , but I dont like it when Floyd beats the man who beats a paper champ. Who would Floyd fight if the opponent wasnt Berto or Broner?
I didnt Maidana will or should get it but . . . there are really limited options when yu really think about it. He is not fighting a TR fighter or a JMW unless it is a mega fight (Oscar, Cotto, and Canelo) and they have to be marketable (so that eliminates Porter, Paulie and Alexander) . . . So who will it be?
I must admit Im not quite up to speed these days on who is with who , but I like Garcia at 140 , Thurman at 147 and Lara at 154.
I think it goes like this... khan garcia cotto (could be martinez if he beats cotto) pacquiao (maybe lol.. if not probably a canelo rematch if he keeps winning until then) He won't retire at 49-0 neither, not unless he seriously knows he don't have the skills no more. He'l get a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee offer to fight 50-0.
I think Garcia and Thurman are both in the mix. Floyd is a WW who fights at LMW for mega fights . . . Lara is no mega fight so I really cannot see that happening . . . I see GGG at 154 before Lara. . . not enough money there.
I think this is plausible . . . i think One Time and Garcia are interchangeable, but I do not see them as next (it will be a bigger name) . . . if you switch Cotto/Serg winner, then Garcia/Thurman, then Pac/Saul. you may very well be right
folks, remenber you or showtime have no say over who floyd fights. No power whatsoever, just ask stephen espinosa. It came from his own mouth!
He's floyd mayweather, he is the p4p best boxer out there and anyone he fights will sell. That being the case I want to see him fight the very best and test himself. For that reason I want to see Lara, Thurman (if he can get a title), Sergio/Golovkin if they can comfortably make 154, Pacquiao, bradley (damn TR/GB feud) and to a lesser extent Garcia. Won't waste my money on anything else
Like I said earlier I don't see Floyd fighting at 154 again because he is a WW that only fights mega fights above his weightclass. So if he were to fight there it would probably one of thes fighters in this order: Cotto; the easiest to make; good money; while I had Floyd winnig wide he did touch up Floyd. Canelo; Saul May be reluctant to get back in the ring; great money; revenge angle could sell Serg; different networks so would make it tough; ok money; sellable because there is a history GGG; HBO v show; ok money; haters will want to watch because he is their last hope at steamrolling him, as soon as he beats him GGG would be called A hype job cherry pick Lara; won't sell which to bad because he would give Floyd the most trouble period. I see Garcia and Thurman both strong options. However, I really cannot see PAC or Bradley unless they pay Arum money to step aside and HBO gives their blessing
Yea even those theres alot of fighters, theres just not really many options. I still feel pac will be one for sure
