The only Americans who were even worthy of a title shot have already been beat by the Klitschkos. American Heavyweights seem to be doomed forever.
I can say the same **** about Pac and Floyd. Their last 3-4 respective fights range from slightly to very predictable. Needless to say if you're a fan you're not gonna find a way to complain. I don't see anything so horrible about the Klits. Would you rather have John Ruiz rule the division? There was a time when I was getting tired of paying for Tyson's fights because they'd last only one round. But it wasn't hard to look for the positives and I don't think it's that difficult to find something good about the Klits.
Klit's won't lose, Give them another 2 years on top. (4 fight's each or so...) (Then maybe the game will even up comp wise as they age.)
Because the other HWs didn't want to risk to be destroyed, and the only one available is Chisora :yep Blame the HW division under top 2 for this before bashing Klitschkos for the quality of opposition they face :deal
That's not the problem. Anyone who thinks they have a chance would take whatever's offered. With a Klitschko scalp, the $$$ will flow. Those who know they have no chance, but want to milk their careers for a some more $$$ (Haye, Valuev) would duck no matter what was offered. From Haye's point of view, the longer he delays, the better. Vitali might (will) get old, and Hay can make a few $$$ in the meantime. But if he loses, then his marketability declines by a serious amount.
I've followed the division for 45 years. i've heard this kind of sentiment after Ali left the scene. Fellow fans complained there were no stars left with Ali, Frazier and Foreman gone. The same complaints followed Holmes. "**** competition.: "The little guys are where its at." (Leonard, Duran Hagler hearns etc.) Now, of course, Holmes is in most peoples top half dozen. Mike came along and 'saved HW boxing.' Exciting times. Then we had the same complaints in the nineties. All the nostalgic moaners complaning about how shitty the HW division had become with Mike in jail. The same kind of points were made then as now. "How far has the division slipped when a fat forty-five year-old is a champion ?" In hindsight, the 90's were pretty good. The point is, to a close approximation, the division doesn't vary too much. Sure, there have been times when there have been exceptional rivalries, but overall, I expect future historians to judge the present era more kindly than some current fans do.
Haye-Adamek is the only answer. It's right there under your nose. Is there some legalese blah blah blah stopping that fight, assuming they both win their next fights? Let's all get together and pull for Haye-Adamek. Haye-Klischtko's is an obvious no-go, due to Haye's bad credit report (he wrote a check he couldn't cash) so...
