Many guys have potential to become mega-stars...

dawson, khan, abraham, williams, martinez, valero, berto, bradley, maidana, lopez, gamboa, haye....and many many more...

Lots of guys have all the talent in the world to be p4p superstars....It's up to their performance in the ring and good management that will take them to the promise land...

I'm surprised Nonito Donaire isn't up there. I don't love him or anything, but I wouldn't be shocked if he's next in line. He's already #7 on the Ring's list, and there are actually a bunch of other good fighters in and around his weight class that could help boost him higher. Assume Mayweather, Pacquiao, Mosley, Marquez and Hopkins retire in the next year or two, he beats Darchinyan in a rematch, maybe he even captures a belt at 118 - he'd probably end up being #1 p4p by default.

Problem with Dawson is that, unless Hopkins fights him, there really isn't anyone who he could beat who would improve his standing much. He's already beaten the best fighters in his division. Pascal is gaining a reputation, but other than that, everyone at LHW is lightly regarded. 168 is strong, but if someone moves up they'll just say he beat a smaller man. And unless Adamek moves back down and wants to rematch, there isn't anyone who brings enough money at cruiserweight to make it worth the risk.

Not Gamboa. Yuriorkis has not gone " life and death " with no journeyman, like Lopez did. I am sorry. Come January and everyone will see that Mtagwa is easy to beat as Yuriorkis will " handle him " a lot easier than Lopez. I am sorry but a fighter with a record of 26W and 15 loses is a mediocre fighter. It does'nt matter who he has faced! Gamboa has not been " rocked " nor " has been hanging against the ropes almost KO'ed " like Lopez was against Mtagwa. Gamboa's " knockdowns " have been exactly very lightly mainly because of being caught " off balance " and nothing really bad and they have been less than 3 in total...He always gets up in the count of " 2 " not 9 and keeps on with his agressive onslaught! Work rates will not get you the win in many occassions as against Gamboa it will not be a " war " as Lopez knows that he has to be " extremely careful " as if he gets wreckless and gets hit by one of Yuriorki's power shots, Lopez will go down...GUARANTEED.:bart

Guys, who is more " exciting " and explosive than Gamboa? No one. This is why besides his ultra talent and skills he should be the one to grab the next P4P title!

    PS...

Guillermo Rigondeaux...The other Cuban beast. Just give him 1 more year!

I think all this p4p **** is overated, its an angle to sell/talk up pay per view fights that have no titles at stake. Its completely subjective anyway. How can you really compare guys that will never fight each other?
