After Wilder stops Breazeale to go 41-0-1, who will he fight after that?

No offense but Wilder finally might have a body on his resume.

    Wilder Cold Hard KO.
Big DB will struggle to beat the count.

DB can recover from some crusierweights masquerading as Heavyweights.

Wilder has Scary power though Big DB not recover.

    Ideally AJ.

Realistically Kownacki, Ruiz JR, Fury rematch, Ortiz rematch, Charles Martin or any other fat out of shape fighter ranked by WBC.

He'll call out AJ and Fury most likely and not fight either of them. He wants the fight but it's pretty clear his handlers don't. It was Finkel who waiting weeks to respond to changes in the contract last summer, it was Finkel who refused meetings. It was Wilder of all people who had to reach out directly and email Hearn with an offer.

Maybe I'm making assumptions but that's how I see it. I think when Wilder's contract with Haymon is about to expire that's when he'll either jump ship to another network or more likely he'll force them to make the Joshua fight before agreeing to extend his contract and that's when we finally see this fight made.

People over looking Brezeale a bit, he has the skills to compete with Wilder, so what if Wilder don't find the perfect shot ?? This is a lot closer than people making out !

Breazeale got hit and dropped by Mansour and Ugonoh. He got hit at will be tiny Fred Kassi. He can't really cope with speed and power, and coupled with the crazy reach Wilder has I can't see this lasting long.

Wilder should be the clear favourite but Breazeale is dangerous. Wilder is reckless when going for the KO and Breazeale has shown even when hurt he can KO you. This could definitely be a potential banana skin for Wilder if he gets careless.

Agreed, DB is better than a lot of Wilders opponents, 3rd best after Ortiz and Fury, so I do expect to see some see sawing going on..Tbh I expect him to push Wilder really really close with a chance of beating him !

I've been guilty of underestimating Breazeale in the past; I figured Ugonoh would stop him and Negron would convincingly outpoint him. Neither happened - though for the first few rounds you'd have have to say both predictions seemed accurate.

    But he's not beating Wilder.

I think Breazeale is better than he was, say, 3 years ago against Mansour. Looking at the Negron fight (which he was winning, IMO, even before he stopped him) I saw some nice things:

    • DB has gotten rid of that awful pawing, double-jab. The jab he's got now isn't particularly good; it's not particularly hard to get past, and it doesn't do much damage on it's own - but Dominic used it against Negron to line up big shots, including the one that stopped Carlos. When does Wilder line up anything?
    • DB wasn't doing that dumb $hit where he tries to swarm his opponent - which he paid for against the smaller, quicker Kassi and Mansour.
    • DB was moving Negron around the ring and backing him up. Mind you, he was kind of like the dog that catches the car and not always doing useful stuff when he backed him up - but it's light years beyond Wilder who is just horrible at using the ring.
But Dominic's hands are slow, he's a pretty lousy combination thrower and not at all a good counter-puncher. There are definitely boxers who can make Wilder pay for missing - but DB isn't one of them. And there are boxers who can exploit Wilder's overall lack of skill and tendency to fall for the most ridiculous $hit - but, again, DB isn't one of them...at least not until he's had a really long look at him.

DB is dangerous if he can get comfortable and start lining up big shots. Maybe he can even trade rounds with Wilder for a time. He isn't going to be able to do the former and since when has the latter ever been a winning game with Wilder?

So I have to pick Wilder by KO with Breazeale really only having a puncher's chance here.

I don't think Breazeale is all that great (he has a lot of deficiencies, such as being slow and not well conditioned)... but I agree with you.

Something tells me Wilder will might have more "trouble" winning this fight than he should.
