I think Chisora, Martin, Browne or Helenius are possible. All are very winnable fights, all easy to hit. They will not choose a strong opponent like Joe Joyce.
Wilder said he may be fighting in November/December so watch this space - Al will most likely make an in-house fight for him. I wouldn't mind seeing the Joyce fight and that trilogy with Tyson Fury 100% took something out of him.
No way Wilders team will allow him to fight Hrgovic who as "green" amatuer dominated 27 pro fight Wilder in sparring in 2013.
It would be Wilder's first fight back after a brutal KO loss. Helenius is not a world beater but he's no bum either, it's a good comeback fight.
I swear, you might be the LAST guy over the finish line. Wilder fights the best fighter in the ENTIRE sport ... the man who could beat everyone with a pair of gloves ... THREE TIMES for the HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE (and Wilder floors that guy four times in those title fights) ... You still act like Wilder never fought anyone. There is no one better he can face in the whole game. You aren't the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?
Wilder fights the best guy in entire sport? At the time Fury wasn't consider this by anyone (AJ was number 1 with everyone). Fury had been years inactive, coke and drink binge and performed poorly in his 2 return fights against very low level journeymen. Call it what it is, Wilder ducked AJ and Fury and made a wrong cherry pick (even by Wilders own words). Lost 3 times. Wilder did his most to avoid top HWs and fight lesser opposition hence the ducking of AJ, Povetkin and Whyte and fought the poor quality guys such as Stiverne, Spzilka, washington, Ortiz, Breazeale etc.
Fury entered 2018 as the Ring Champion. (No one was rated above him.) Fury entered 2020 as the #1 Ring and WBC contender. (No one was rated above him.) Fury entered 2021 as the Ring Champion. (No one was rated above him.) Get over it. You were wrong about Fury. You were wrong about Wilder. You were wrong about Joshua. Wilder fought three great versions of a PRIME Tyson Fury. You can run him down all you want, but that's the truth. Joshua isn't better than Fury. Joshua isn't much better than Andy Ruiz. All you can say is Szpilka. Szpilka. Szpilka. Szpilka got carried out of the ring on a stretcher. Know how many heavyweight title fights have ended with a guy being carried out of the ring on a stretcher and placed into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital? THAT ONE. That's all. Ever. Someone always has to finish the race last. It appears that will be you. Catch up with everyone else. It's not 2015 or 2016 anymore. Wilder fought the best heavyweight in the world three times. Your old arguments that he hasn't fought anyone don't work. He fought the best in THE WHOLE SPORT in heavyweight title fights THREE TIMES. Not once. Not twice. He fought the BEST HEAVYWEIGHT in the world for the heavyweight title THREE times. The argument that he hasn't fought anyone is OVER. Catch up! Don't you get tired of talking about Szpilka on a loop all the time? Nobody cares about Szpilka. Wilder nearly killed him. Szpilka didn't win. You get that, right? Slow Poke? A lot has happened in six years. Get up to speed.
Wilder's manager refused to confirm who he would fight next but instantly ruled out Derek Chisora, and said Robert Helenius was unlikely to be next. He says they want Anthony Joshua if he beats Oleksandr Usyk. This content is protected
You are basically arguing with historical revisionists at this point. Wilder fans have always been extremely selective with the truth. It's funny how anyone can deny that the first fight was anything but a massive cherry pick gone wrong. Even the second fight people were still picking Wilder to stop Fury, my sense own sense was Wilder was still the general favourite. Add to that Wilder has been caught admitting to ducking Joshua. Add to that it's hard to realistically claim there was a clear number one, when Joshua and then Ruiz Jr. were holding 3 of the 4 major sanctioning body belts when Wilder v Fury 2 happened. Not to mention, there is no way Wilder or his fans were expecting the version of Fury that turned up in fight 2. No one was after seeing the Wallin performance. However, Wilder should get some credit for forcing his shot for fight number 3. The guy took a beating in the second fight and wanted more. But at the same time it was shocking how much he slandered Fury and his own team in the run up, and it also stopped undisputed. Having said all that, I think Helenius v Wilder is a good match up for his return. It's a good opponent who whilst not top 10 is a solid top 20 fighter. edit: I just read the post above mine. I clearly spoke too soon on Helenius. Of course he's not fight him...
