Kirilov is pretty average in most fields but is hard worker and hasnt got a bad chin. I reckon he has slowed down a bit and seems to slug it out a bit more compared to what I had seen of him earlier. Which certainly suits Vic more, he just has to not let the fight get scrappy and dictate with his power.

This is the most winnable title fight at superfly for Vic. I think he can win and if he doesnt then I dont see him bagging another title at this weight.

Put it this way Kirilov drew with his last opponant, which I thought he won clearly but certainly not comfortably . That same opponant was iced in 10 rounds by the WBO champ Montiel, who I think is the best at superfly but I wouldnt argue with anyone who thought Mijaries was and infact I would be the minority that think Montiel is better. No way Vic touches either of them.

Im feelin that bro. Montiel is the man at 115. this Mijares hype job has been blown out of proportion. I feel Montiel is not getting enough love. The kid is beating anyone, not just beating rather giving each and every one he fought a complete and utter beat-down. Mijares may school a Arce and what not. Montiel would hurt Arce bad, real bad same goes for navarro and all those bums Mijares schooled..Anyone this man hits clean is going down, ask gorres, castillo and Maldanado.

As for the fight. A winnable fight. Kirilov there's nothing super to say about this guy. He's average in every department. But is solid. Neither impressed with either Vic or Kirilov. Except Vic's power. Although his chin is a little glassy. I give Kirilov points or Tko late in the fight. Cuz, Vic is hittable and was boxed easily. And dropped by light hitters, Catubay, Gorres and Donaire. A tough fight for Vic. this champion will not go away with one punch. Like the rest.

Thats pretty funny that you rate Montiel the man at 115lbs. Gorres gave him the fight of his life, and his last fight was against a fighter on the slide, I think your just not a Darchinyan fan and you would probally go for anyone he fights. I watched the Gorres fight and saw the highlights, Vic was robbed and dropped Gorres cleanly on several occasions, Montiel didnt look as convincing as Darchinyan.

I would like to see Vic take Montiel after he ices Kirilov!

Mijares, Vic, And Arce wouldn't last the distance with Montiel. That's why they're ducking and keeping Montiel out of the picture. This unfication bout Mijares is doin is ducking the real king, Montiel. He's avoiding the king.

Montiel V Mijares. I got Montiel by KO.And I am confident, Montiel destroys Darchinyan as well.

    :hi:

Fair point but different fight, different fighters, different situation.

Montiel is boxer-puncher and smack bang in middle of the boxer to puncher ratio I reckon. Meaning he isnt a specialist at either but he is very adequate at both.
Gorres fought the fight of his life, pumped up in front of his home crowd, truly the underdog. Fighters have bad nights sometimes and I think it wasnt Montiel's best, whilst being one of Gorres' finest.
Stylistically I knew Montiel would have problems but maybe not as bad as I thought, Gorres was very focused though. I reckon Fernando underrated him and let it get to his head a bit, a little like the TooSharp fight. He faced a guy who was slicker, and could outbox him, he was better at boxing than Montiel's boxer side was. Fernando adjusted, brought out his puncher more and I thought won a clear fight with heavier punching.

Vic on the otherhand is a puncher, that is what he does. He has a way he likes to win fights and he is singley focused on winning them that way. Thats why I thought he manhandled Gorres a lot better, because it took a puncher to trump the boxer, which is what Vic is a specialist at. Plus I dont think Gorres went into that fight with the same mindset, in his eyes he was probably the overwhelming favourite against what many thought was a fighter who was badly exposed and overrated.

Fernando is looking excellent of late, he has rattled off 5 wins in a row and 4 very impressive KO wins in his last 4. I think he beats just about everyone at superfly right now.

Mijaries vs Montiel would be a great fight, I am not as confident as you PIPO. Montiel is one of my fav fighters but I would say Mijaries edges him.

I agree with what your saying, my only point is that everyone has seemed to write off Vic after 1 fight. against Donaire the cards were even with two judges and Vic is a notorious slow starter. Vic knocked himself rushing in, but in the end thats boxing.

The Bull would fight anyone, I remember his promoter saying in a interview he has had only two boxers in 40 years of promoting boxing that have never questioned him on who they fighting - Diego Corrales & Vic Darchinyan.

What will happen if Vic KO's Kirilov - remembering Kirilov has never been KO'D and he beat Jose Navarro by a similar margin to Mijares. I think the Raging Bull will storm back to prominence after this fight.

Credit where credit is due, it was a spectacular knockout and showed how good Donaire really is.

But I gotta say Vic gave him that KO on a platter in a way, it was one of the most amatuerish defensive displays your going to see from a world champ.
