What if Williams effectively ties Margo up again?

So then Margo getting tied up in the first fight was his own fault?

 

Yep, he should have made adjustments but I have a feeling he will in the rematch.

 

How come he didn't make any adjustments in the first fight? Do you believe Williams made adjustments himself and executed a good fight plan, or was it all just Margo beating himself? What adjustments would you see him making in a rematch? How would he stop Williams from clinching? How would he cut down on Williams' workrate?

 

To answer the first question Williams activity made it impossible for him to make his adjustments and lets remember Margarito was a late starter back then. I do believe Williams executed a great game plan to beat the tornado from hell. See, I am not a complete hater. I see him rolling his shoulders and hitting him when he tries to clinch. He would simply throw punch for punch with Williams to answer your last question and guess what? Margarito can hurt Williams with his punches not simply get points and try to win on the cards like Williams did in the first fight. :bbb

 

Williams would take a even clearer victor over Margo if they fought again. He knows he can't sit on punches against Margo, he would just pitty-pay jabs at Margo all day and move him.

 

Williams wins it. Williams is younger and will only get better while Margo is older will only get worse especially with his style. Not to mention Margo only knows one way to fight and he can't outwork Williams and he can't use his size advantage against him either. Not to mention has just as good as stamina so Margo does so he can forget about wearing him down as well. Williams will keep Margo at distance and not let him get inside where he likes to work and Paul will hold and tie up when need be and push off maneuver back out of range he did this beautifully in the first fight. There's a reason why Margo turned down a career high payday for a rematch here. Williams by UD is the smart pick here.:deal

 

THANK YOU spot on i've tried to say this margo starts slow is a myth its just because he's a relentless pressure fighter who constantly applies the pressure he'll get chances late on when his opponent begins to tire. You can't expect to fight the last 6 like the first 6 because you're at your freshest at the beginning of the fight.
On the fight at hand i think...i think it's too naive to just say margo starts quicker this time so he wins williams will make some adjustments too and possibly be even better than the first time.

 

I picked him to lose to Williams and he did. He can't beat Williams because Margo can't use his advantages that he uses on smaller men like Cotto they're not effective against Willaims..deal with it.:hi: You and your boy are still having nightmares about that fight because you know Williams will beat Margo at his own game again.:yep

 

Exactly Margo has great stamina and his whole game plan is to outwork you with pressure and force you to fade. When he faces opponents with good stamina like Williams or against a guy like PBF for example he wouldn't be so effective. Where was his second half surge in the 12th and final round against Williams when he was outworked by a guy with better stamina?:huh

 

this will be the hardest fight to call of the year.it will be a fantastic one though.
