I think the best pure boxers have the advantage in this type of tournament. Kessler and Taylor are tops for me but Taylor's mental and physical status is a huge liability. I'll go with a Kessler-Abraham final with Kessler winning on pts.

You dont consider Ward a pure boxer? He might be the most well rounded fighter in the tournament.

I am shocked that nobody thinks Andre Dirrell will win, he would be my second choice after Arthur Abraham.

I think Dirrell gets more fans after he stops Carl Froch in the first round.

Kessler I think though I admire Froch's style, I think Kessler will outbox him and Abraham and KO Taylor. I am unsighted on the others but will be surprised if they have a big impact.

Ummm, he has 2 first round KO's in his career...combined record of those fighters is 10-17-1...and he has fought the worst competition among the fighters entering the tourney (and its not close). I dont see him stopping Froch early, especially considering that Carl will be the best fighter he has faced by a LARGE amount!

These are my initial thoughts on the matchups...

Taylor - Abraham - Arthur cant outbox Jermain...plain and simple, but the question is, can Jermain outlast him? Im not so sure anymore. Right now, I have Taylor clear UD...but Im not confident at all picking him.

Ward - Kessler - Ward looked AMAZING in his last bout...and really answered pretty much every critic out there, myself included. I truely believe he is one of the three or four best fighters at SMW. Only problem is, Kessler IMO is the top guy in the division...but, how will he react to such a dramatic step back up in class after fighting glorified journeymen for the past few years? Intial thought...Ward close UD (IMO these are the two top guys in the tournament...either winning this one wouldnt surprise me).

Dirrell - Froch - One thing we have yet to see is, how will Andre react to being hit with power? Froch is a proven commodity, but then again, Taylor's athleticism was kryptonite to him for the first 3/4 of their fight...and at this point in their careers, Dirrell is much more athletic. On experience alone, I gotta go with the Cobra in this one. Froch TKO 10.

ANY of these outcomes going the other way wouldnt surprise me tho. Which is why I am so ****ing excited for this to happen!!!

How do you figure? Kessler was still trying to find a way to win and bang Calzaghe out hard late in the fight (Round 11 and I believe 12).

I think what he means is, Kessler can be forced into fighting the opponents fight...which is what happened vs Calzaghe. Which I agree with. Kessler is a wonderful fighter...does many things well...but adaptability is not one of them.

If he means something else, then I wholeheartedly disagree...LOL!

Wow.. Its really difficult to say.. But we will see if kessler still got it when he fights perdomo...

If he can step op against perdomo, and take another step against ward, winning on close decission, then i give it to Kessler... If Kessler cant step up.. hmm.. Well... Ward and dirrel simply aint experienced enough to win an competition where u have to fight many different styles.

Kessler wins if he can step up..

I'm rooting for Taylor, but I think it will be Dirrell.

Froch won't win ****, he just gets lucky in his wins. Kessler, Dirrell, and Ward are much more consistent than Taylor and they don't like to brawl like Pascal does, Froch won't be too lucky with his lack of skills and defense against WAY better boxers.
