Who will you be rooting for: Andre Ward or Carl Froch?

Both fighters are great to watch, but I'll pull for my countryman in this one. Go Ward!

Both the winner and loser are going to have great careers, and we'll most likely see these two facing each other again. Looking forward to it.

 

Not a fan of either guy. usually in these instances, I'll just root for the fighter who I think the sport benefits from more with a win. Neither fighter really seperates from the other in this regard, IMO, so I'm more/less just hoping for a good fight and may the best man win.

Dismissing one's opinion using sarcasm, without justfiying your own which apparently is its polar opposite, is pretty cowardly if you ask me.

I don't think he's literally claiming to be THE son of God . But I do understand what you're saying, though. He is a dirty fighter and the things he does do make a the fight a wee bit unfair. It's not a pretty sight to watch him go in with his head, let alone actually being his opponent that's suffering from it.

I also don't see how froch has anything other than above average power. Which world class boxer besides taylor who had already been KTFO at a lower weight has Froch KO'd or even stopped?


I'm rooting for Ward because I actually enjoy watching him fight more and appreciate the adaptability in his game. I actually like Froch outside of the ring more though because the religious **** annoys the hell out of me and Froch is a funny son of a *****.

Turns out you put Froch's punching power way up there. I respect that, but don't see how 'slightly above average' would be "completely wrong" compared to a hypothetically correct statement of 'way above average'. It'd be off, sure. But not 100% out to lunch.

Dirrell got lightly stunned a few times by flush shots, Abraham & Johnson didn't.

Kessler as I mentioned was rocked in a few instances, but Froch didn't go for the kill - he just stood back and appreciated his own work.

Before Berrio-Bute ('07), and during the first couple of months that followed the fight, the two biggest punchers at SMW were considered to be Froch & Berrio. I'd be curious to see how you rate Bute's power compared to Froch's given the fact you rate Froch's so highly, but this isn't the thread to debate it.

Froch is great for boxing and is a true warrior. Ward, for all his ability is bad for boxing with his total refusual to fight elite fighters away from the USA

"I thought" as in that was my initial impression by the way you called the "slightly above average" out. Bringing up R5 of Froch-Kessler was HYPING Froch's power (to a hypothetical Ward fan). "Turns out you (...) up there" - well, turns out you believe in Froch's power being way above average, not being a Ward fan.

Well ok since you didn't understand the first part, obviously I can't hold you responsible for thinking I don't rate Froch & Bute as big punchers at 168. The Reading Gods could, though.
