Who will you be rooting for: Deontay Wilder or Zhilei Zhang?

Zhang. Maybe just maybe Wilder will prove last fight he just had a major off night.

 

In this fight, I just want to see good fight, with couple of knockdowns and one big KO in the 4th round.

 

Big Bang 100%, and I think he'll get the job done too. I'm kinda expecting it to look like a repeat of the second Joyce fight, where Zhang figures out the person in front of him isn't exactly hard to hit and he's able to easily see their shots coming and block them, and eventually sets up the finishing blow.

I'm not gonna count out a Wilder win though. If he's able to get through that period where Zhang is most dangerous, I could see him managing to stop Zhang in the later rounds. Zhang's pretty hard chinned yeah, but if this fight goes on past a certain point he'll tire out and not be very active, as we've seen before. Even if he doesn't go down, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the referee could see an exhausted man being hit with heavy bombs who's not really punching back and decide to step in. Then again, as we saw in round 11 of the Hrgovic fight and Round 8 of the Parker fight, even a tired out Zhang is capable of landing punches with a lot of power behind them. Also it's worth noting that Zhang is apparently, for some reason, intent on coming into this fight over 300 pounds, which you have to imagine ain't gonna do him any favors in regards to his gas tank. Might be a tall order and it's not what I'm predicting to happen, but Wilder winning isn't impossible by any means.

All that being said though, I'm backing the Chinese Power over the Alabama Power

 

Zhang. Wilder has lingered on in the division for far too long. Lot of fresh talent in the division. Kabayel, Opetai, Anderson, etc.

 

If this lasts longer than 3 rounds id be shocked.

Whatever one thinks of his idiotic and sometimes bigoted fan base, Wilder is an absolute go out on my shield warrior with the kind of explosive one-punch power that brings a unique competitive tension to every fight.

 

zhang. i think wilder makes the mistake of trading with him at midrange and gets stretched.

 

I'm not a huge fan of Wilder, but as an American, I'd feel like a dick if I was rooting for Zhang, so I'll be all in on Wilder here.

I'm a little annoyed that DAZN is charging for this one. The marquee fight on this card is a non-title fight between two dudes who just lost? Cards like this being included should be a reason to maintain a DAZN subscription.

First undisputed in 25 years? Yeah of course, I was happy to pay for that. This? Come on now.

 

It's the two biggest hitters in the division. Either of them could starch the other. I'm hoping for a rubber match **** show, a modern day Foreman-Lyle.

 

all zhang has to do is cover up until he gets inside past wilders kill zone. wilder is only dangerous at the end of his straight right. anything else, zhang will just brush off. once inside, just hit wilder, anywhere. wilder is not a natural fighter, he doesnt react to getting hit like fighters at this level do. he will give you openings once you start touching him. and zhang has great timing for an old dude, he will slice wilder up in exchanges.

 

I remember when DAZN came out it was actually a good deal, no so much anymore.

 

Watch this fight end in something bizarre that nobody expects, like a decision.

 

I’ve been a wilder fan for better or for worse. I do like Zhang too. Both are past their primes so I just want to see a good fight.

I do like the possibility of wilder-Andersen that turkey proposed so maybe it incentivizes me to root for wilder more

 

There's a bunch of stuff on there that I just don't care about. All I want are combat sports. I don't need woman's soccer and the other stuff. I'm fine with $30/mo if I'm getting all the regular thursday-night type fights and if I'm getting the bigger-but-not-major events (like this one) included. Maybe do something cool like pull in some smaller local events going on in latin america (how much could they really have to pay for rights to some of that stuff?).

This just irked me when I saw I had to pay for this one.
