Who will you be rooting for: Deontay Wilder or Zhilei Zhang?

I see Zhang being ahead and potentially scoring a KD, that is until Wilder eventually windmill KOs him out of nowhere.

 

This is not unlike my views on who I wanted to win for the Usyk-Fury bout. I had reasons to pull for both, but couldn't decide who. So I hoped for a good fight with neither man seriously hurt.

As for Zhang-Wilder it's the same for different reasons. I despise Wilder as he's a terrible sport and don't have strong feeling for Zhang one way or the other. Given their ages both are likely near the end. I'd still like to see AJ-Wilder even though that bout is way past its sell date. If ZZ beats Wilder that will never happen. On the other hand I'd like to see ZZ KTFO of Wilder. AJ or Fury Zhang might be good.

At the moment I'm in the Neither, I just want to see a good fight camp. If you put a gun to my head - Zhang

 

Usually I just wanna see a good fight, that's why we're all boxing fans at the end of it.

Wilder's made 1 too many lousy excuses to put me off, plus I happen to like Zhang so makes sense to root for him.

 

It's a tough one. I'm a fan of Zhang but I'd like to see Wilder win to prove he's not shot like some are claiming. On the other hand Zhang would be his best win so he might never have had been able to beat him. Just hoping for a good fight where both land and take bombs.

 

Zhang is my favorite current fighter. I have no doubt he is going to shatter Wilder's Glass Jaw in savage fashion once and for all and rid us of him forever. There will be shards all over the arena. Mark my words. Wilder won't be able to take the punched that Parker did.

 

Zhang's massively overhyped for a dude with a record of 2-2-1 against top-200 rated fighters.

But.

He's not been actively bad for the sport - hasn't held a belt hostage, hasn't claimed to be the best in the world whilst fighting bums, hasn't said he wants to kill someone in the ring.

Zhang's an honest competitor who stepped it up way, way, way too late - he might be a fringe contender (at best!), but that's fine.

Wilder's hypetrain was absolutely ridiculous for his resume and awful misuse of a title - in a perfect position to make whatever great fights he wanted, Deontay ducked anyone with a pulse (no matter how hard they begged)...

Frankly, Wilder was actively bad for the division - Zhang wasn't.

I'll back Zhang gladly, despite my distaste for how hard he's been hyped.

Any day he gets the **** beat out of him is a good day.

 

You mean Wilder? I've never seen Fury say anything like that, and there was that time Fury knew Chisora was done, so yelled at the ref to stop it then just flicked his jab with no power until the ref finally did stop it.

 

I love Big Bang, but I gotta roll with my Boy Wilder. Hoping for a good fight, and may the best man win.

Both of these guys can bang so anything can happen.

Zhang seems a little more on top of his game these days though and that should see him through.

Wilder looked completely shot in his last fight and didn't seem to care.

 

I don't know. I ****ing hate Wilder but I could credibly seeing him make a last, good run and add some value to the division, if only through his name, while Zhang is always just going to be a three round fighter.

I think this is just a "let the better man win" type fight, and the chips can fall as they may.

 

A fight between two of the three most overrated heavyweights of the last 20 years (Joe Joyce being the other). Interesting fight but I don't especially care who wins. The result is irrelevant to the division.

 

If you don't rate Wilder you can't rate Fury, its his only win outside a old Wlad and inactive Whyte.

 

I hope Wilder starches him because I want to see Wilder v AJ.
