Who will you be rooting for: Hopkins or Kovalev?

Hopkins is a great fighter but his fights are boring.

 

I'm rooting for Kovalev. I admire Hopkins clean living (due to Islam?) and some of his accomplishments but he makes stupid racist statements and is arrogant in kind of a dumb way so he needs a good ass kicking. I think Kovalev is going to deliver that to him. I hope he beats his ass in humiliating fashion.

 

For the right person to get the decision.

 

One could expect that boxing fans would want the almost fifty years old ATG to triumph once more, but the poll indicates people rather want to see his arse get kicked :huh

I guess Hopkins doesn't always come of as a likeable guy, but still ...

I'm sitting on the fence with this one. Would be cool to see Hopkins create history, but I'm not a big enough fan of him to bother if he gets beaten. Just hope the ref is on top of his game. If it seems dangerous, the old man needs to be dragged out of there straight away.

 

Kovalev, nothing against B-Hop though, I want to see Sergey smash Stevenson.

 

What makes you think Stevenson will fight Kovalev if he beats Hopkins?

I don't want to see either of them lose. It would be a black mark on the rest of Kovalev's career if he lost to a 50 year old and atm he looks like the inheritor of 175. I would LOVE to see a 50 year old beat a 30 year old but maybe not so much a 50 year old Hopkins. I don't dislike him personally, in fact that article about his friendship with the terminally ill kid was pretty uplifting but the fact is he is and always has been a dirty fighter. I think you can forgive a 50 year old man for fighting dirty but he's always been like that.
I guess I just want them both to give a good account of themselves. I don't want to see Hopkins retire and I don't want to see Kovalev Pro Career tarnished just as he's really getting started.

Tough call for me personally. I like Kovalev and want to see him win, but
I'll admit part of me wants to see Hopkins continue to defy the odds.

 

I'm on for Kovalev. Even though he's unproven, he hasn't demonstrated the dirty fighting and lack of class that Hopkins has. Hopkins is to be greatly respected for his longevity and boxing nous, but let's be honest. He's a filthy spoiler that has never beaten a great fighter that is as big as he is and near prime.
