Who will you be rooting for: Savannah Marshall or Claressa Shields?

I certainly can explain why I believe the reverse will be true. However, can you explain to everyone how and why that will happen, because I don't think you've actually out that much thought into this.

 

Fair enough, although I'm basing my judgment on styles, past success, power, skills and performances against shared opponents.

There's only one person to ever beat Shields in the amateurs, and that person is Marshall. Stylistically, the rangy Marshall is all wrong for Shields. Shields either presses forward behind a rudimentary one two or aggressively walks her opponents down winging wild hooks at them sometimes in a very sloppy manner with a porous defense, and she can get away with this because of her natural size and reach advantage, which tends to mentally and emotionally overwhelm her usually much smaller weak opponents. Marshall feasts on opponents like this, she's a defensively sound, very precise counter puncher, always looking for openings to exploit, and the unpredictable angles she uses and the constant fluid switching of stances, means she can usually catch them flush and from anywhere, and when she does, her power can put their lights out. She can either do this coming forward or going backward. She also has the natural size advantage as well. So apply the same logic you'd use in a match with male boxers. Now tell me, who would you pick in a match between a less fluid Adrian Granados clone with a 16% KO ratio vs. a female Tyson Fury clone with an 83% KO ratio? There's your answer.

Shields has only fought one truly skilled fighter and that's Hanna Gabriels, who was two divisions smaller. She dropped her and arguably won the match. Taking rounds, 1, 3, 7, 9 and 10.

The contrast is ****ing brutal innit!

You can't be too aggressive with Marshall or you'll pay dearly for it. You can't outbox Marshall, and she's also physically strong and big, so you cannot outmuscle Marshall.
