No one is telling you to watch women's boxing. You could just ignore it.

I chose Marshall, but I really do hope this is a great fight. This matchup is pretty much even on paper, in my view. Marshall obviously has the punching power and the ability to put her opponents under intense pressure, while Shields has the better boxing ability. It also goes without saying that Savannah has the home field advantage here as well.

Even many of the fans who like, don't mind, or aren't too bothered by some of the sport's most abhorrent, unpleasant and unlikeble fighters can't stand Claressa.

If you had an option to ride an evil horse and a good horse, unless you're a practitioner of the dark arts or something, most people would opt to ride the good horse and Sweet Savannah is the good horse in this scenario

I'm not saying Claressa is evil per se albeit she could be, or that either or them are horses, it's just an analogy I felt would be useful in aiding me in making my point

Will they allow scratching and hair pulling? Do they punch or slap? I’ve never watched a woman’s boxing match and need to bone up on the rules.

Shields has a significant speed advantage and I think can fluster Marshall. She also can get inside Marshall's power and won't just stand there flat-footed like most Marshall opponents.

Marshall has a good jab and sense of space, tho. Should be a fun fight. Hope it does well and possibly rematch. It's not like there is a deep bench of talent in women's boxing.
