Who will you be rooting for: Tyson Fury or Dillian Whyte?

I cant stand Whyte but honestly at this point with Fury being hyped up as some ATG head to head monster, and him talking about retirement and boxing MMA guys instead of taking on all comers, I would laugh my ****ing head off if Whyte beat him. The meltdown would be incredible.

 

Because he's never talked about either of those things any number of times in years past...

Same, I remember jumping up celebrating in (I was drunk to be fair) when Fury got the decision in Germany, a few years on and I’d **** myself laughing if he got chinned by Whyte who I’ve never liked or rated. It fascinates me how when he was actually more likeable the public mostly hated him, and now he’s this popular figure after a mental health sob story etc. Wtf is so funny about someone calling everyone a dosser for years on end, don’t people get bored of it ffs? Mental

 

Yeah this is exactly my take too. The OTT Fury hype has become nauseating and is due a reality check, and as much as I dislike Whyte it would be HILARIOUS if he sparked him.

 

Fury. He's carrying the sport at the moment. Whyte got sparked by a reanimated Povetkin and him winning will only take away from the division.

 

Lots of things.

If you go and watch Fury's interviews and put the bull**** to one side, he actually has an insanely good knowledge of boxing - better than any other active fighter imo. He's good to listen to and seems to have a few more brain cells than the other top HW's.

You couldn't pay me to listen to a Dillian Whyte interview, he looks like he struggles to form a sentence sometimes.

 

The faces he pulls when he's thinking mid sentence trying to drag out simple words is hilarious isn't it!..

 

Whyte, it would throw the division into turmoil and just might lure Wilder out of his basement.

 

Fury, he'll fight Usyk

 

I want Fury to retire undefeated but wish he'd calm down some of the hype at times. The best result for the sport would be a close but clear, non-robbery win for Fury, leaving Whyte on the table as a possible contender but without any clamour for a rematch.

Then we can have all the fun of Joshua-Whyte 2 in which I'd rate Whyte's chances and Fury-Usyk for the undisputed retirement match; then hopefully most of these guys will get out of the road and let some other contenders in.

 

Fury cause I wanne eventually see Fury / Usyk.

could happen. To me, it's a trap fight. Anyone watching Whyte on tape is not going to bother getting 100% razor sharp for the guy. But he is tough and does fire off a surprising lefthook on occasion. Not exactly sneaky but it does come out of nowhere.

Kind of like the 80's heavies--champ just needs to be in decent shape and they get the W. But as we have witnessed through the years, sometimes that underprepared guy loses to a guy he had no business losing to. Especially if they do not get the breaks.

But watching lets say 6 Whyte fights won't exactly get the champ out of bed at 5am to go jogging. Very easy to slag off. and then watch Dillian get hit by about every uppercut an opponent throws won't help being 100% sharp and focused.

I think maybe when the belts change hands in the heavyweight division, maybe 1/3 to 2/5 of the time it is strictly due to not bothering to get in top shape and looking and expecting an easy nights work. this fight could very well be one of these outcomes.

 

I am rooting for Whyte

 

Fury for me, I enjoy watching him fight, even against the Seferi's of the world or when he's punching himself in the face. I just don't see him losing this.

Though, him taking a loss to Whyte would be softened by the collective meltdown across social media the next day.
