I have a sneaky feeling this bout is going to be pretty good

I think Fury has physical ailments that are now effecting his boxing, mainly his ability to throw the jab which is devastating. He's had surgery to address the issues but he isn't going to return to 2020 Wilder 2 Fury.

When his in camp doctor says he thinks retirement might be next or maybe Usyk/AJ winner then I think it says it all. If the bodybuilder can upset the odds and beat a wartorn Usyk then Fury will take AJ out then retire. Usyk? Depends how much Fury thinks Usyk has left in the tank, because he's clearly concealing where he can push to.

I would love to see Whyte win that overemphasized and mostly imaginary "lineal title".

Lineal title is hardly overemphasized especially compared to the alphabetti spaghetti titles which hold very little value. The Lineal title has lineage that goes back over 100 years. That's true worth and value. If people think a physical marketable object in the form of a cheap belt brings value then well good luck to them.

history doesn't remember belts or titles they remember fights and fighters. All of which is eventually forgotten with the passing of time

Let's not sweat the little stuff, enjoy what we have while its here. The day Fury leaves the sport will be a sad day.

    Fury put it most eloquently

"After I'm dead 100 years, my people will talk about the gypsy king, and that was Tyson Fury"

Which is enough of a legacy for any humble man.

Who remembers Ali for his belts & titles? Couldn't care less.

I still believe this is a risky fight for Fury. I think his last two outings might have lulled him into a false sense of security. We've only ever seen this new Kronk Fury vs the Bronze Dosser who is a one-trick pony whose only threat is a big right hand (albeit a very potent threat). Whyte's no great shakes in the skill department either but he's better than the Bronze Dosser in that regard and he has more variety to his attacks and he can hurt you with both hands upstairs and down and I can't erase how sloppy Fury looked last time out from my mind.

If Whyte can spark Chisora clean out with a single shot and drop the teak-tough Parker hard, again with a single shot, he can definitely do the same to Fury who has been down many times and come very close to being stopped himself. Whether Whyte can land shots like that on Fury is a different question but one thing's for sure he stands a significantly higher chance of doing so against this Kronk version of Fury than he would of against the slick gypsy elusive one of old. He'll definitely need to be sharper and more defensively responsible than he was last time out for this one.

I want some clarity in the HW division so I will be rooting for Fury as I'd like to see him take on Usyk. I like Whyte as a fighter, would love to see him get Wilder or an AJ rematch I just don't think he has anything for Usyk.

Whyte has always had plenty of tools in his arsenal. He isn’t just a “left hook” guy.

    - always shows up motivated and ready (make exception for wach fight due to obvious issues)
    - carries power in body shots, visibly hurting AJ
    - carries power in right cross (staggered Chisora first round rematch, Rivas in second round. These are hefty muscle bound thick necked, granite chinned guys)
    - only guy to KO chisora and drop parker
    - has a solid jab, longer reach than people think, knows how to vary its speed and power, to score points and disrupt his opponents rythm.
    - wilder hits hard but one trick pony, misses 99% of shots trying throw his 1-2 like a spear. Whyte will land a lot more often, and put his shots together better.
    - Fury doesnt have the power or the explosive punch speed to trouble Whyte. Povetkin has the speed and technical skills to catch Whyte off guard. Fury isnt that style.

just ask parker and Chisora how hard Whyte hits. And these guys are known for their solid chins/resilience.

whyte will not be a walk in the park for Fury like most believe. Where he struggled against Wallin, put down by cunningham the 6 foot 3 cruiser weight, and downed several times be an anorexic wilder.

if those guys had success Whyte will do it better and finish what they couldn’t.

we’ll see how much Fury is “head and shoulders “ about Whyte on fight night.

I always backed Whyte to win, and Fury in for a rude awakening.

I'll be rooting for Fury, but I don't dislike Whyte. It's just great to see an all British heavyweight title fight on these shores. Whyte has played a smart game, keeping away from the media and keeping his head down and getting on with preparing for his biggest night. I don't think it will be enough to beat Fury, but it won't be for lack of preparation or effort on Whyte's part.

I'm going for Whyte brutal KO rounds 7-12.

    Reasoning -
Although I think Furys performance against Wilder 3 is underrated he looked a bit sloppy. He also looked quite vulnerable to body punches at the beginning from Wilder - a notorious headhunter who before then I'd barely seen him employ body punches. Whyte viciously digs into his bodyshots. Unless Fury does what he did against Wlad (win 7-8 rounds many of which were won by 1-2 jabs (not stiff jabs BTW) and 1 or 2 scuffed inside glove slaps) - aka dont hit and don't get hit back, Whyte will land those body shots.

The bodyshots in theory should slow Fury down which will aid in landing further bodyshots and utilising Whytes underrated right hand, brutal left hook and nice rangey vicious double jab.

Furys last three fights have pretty much been Wilder (ex Wallin), that's not going to be helpful now he's facing a totally different style. Also remember, Furys best wins is someone who is reliant solely on ahtlticsm and power and a gunshy 39yo Wlad (which was a disgraceful performance BTW)

... Or Fury will just Chisora 2 him. But I doubt that tbh, Whyte seems much more game and willing to risk it all.

Hopefully Whyte pulls it off, because I just can't support some Kinahan supporting coke sniffer

Throwing to the body will give Fury opportunity to land upstairs. When Whyte got slept by Povetkin, it could have destroyed his chin. We have no way of knowing until we see him take some crisp shots up top, but sometimes when you get blacked out like that it affects your punch resistance for the rest of your career. I do agree that Whyte's best gameplan is to focus on the body and hammer away at the blubber, but it will come with risk.
Lots of interesting storylines in this one, definitely excited for it.

    True

Possibly, but Fury isn't the type of concussive puncher Povetkin is and I don't think he has the sort of punch variation/technique for a quick shot out of nowhere skillful uppercut KO like the one Povetkin threw
Yeah, I just hope it isn't like the Wlad or Chisora 2 fights because they were really not enjoyable to watch
