Breaks my heart to see 2 of my favorites going at each other. But if I had to choose I would pick Roy. No.. make that Tito. Arrrghhh.
Noormally I'd favor Roy but I've nothing against Trinidad. I voted for "just want to see a good fight"
I put some V-Cash on Tito just because the odds were so good but I'd probably rather see Roy win in a competitive fight.
I like both guys and I didn't get pumped up for this match so all I'm rooting for is a good fight and no ring rust for Tito. But as written off as he is, knowing myself probably I'm going to root for the underdog here. So many of you guys see this as a mismatch, but other than a few good moves Roy had troubles to beat even a B-level fighter like Hanshaw convincingly. His dark days started when he returned from HW and had to loose a lot of his um... pumped up muscle - and now he has to loose weight again, but this time to a limit he made a good 12 years ago the last time. And there are already some rumors about weight problems what can be a huge factor... On the other hand, Tito never started fading as a fighter or began to slide down the hill... he was badly beaten by two great defensive and intelligent fighters, but not necessarily because of his weight or age but more of his one dimensional style. Of course Roy knows as much as Wright or Hopkins to dominate Tito in his prime but in 2008 he is well past his prime. Getting hit a lot more. Punch output is low. Not only the hand speed but the famous reflexes are slower. Had troubles with Tarver in all of their 3 fights and was badly knocked out by Johnson. Since than almost a half decade has passed... I agree that Roy is the favorite here, picking Tito wouldn't make much sense. But in the meantime I see this as a pretty even match-up with a slight edge to Roy and you just can't tell how washed up or overweight Tito will be because there are no indications for that. We just don't know how big will be the effect of the plus weight for Tito or the less weight for Roy. The only indication for that is Roy's case after the Ruiz fight and that’s not a good thing for him. Tito's biggest disadvantage is of course is the long layoff.
