I've posted at length on this before so I won't elaborate too much more on it here, but I think GGG is kryptonite to 160 Roy. He's the first middleweight since Roy I'd favor to beat him. Styles make fights, and the Hopkins-Roy-GGG triangle is a nifty little one where each holds a styles edge on one, but a real vulnerability to the other.
GG doesnt have a weakness. He would shatter Roys china no doubt, and he would make Hopkins turn in a Kovalev performance. Both Hopkins and Golovkin are master boxers, but one has brutal power - much the same as Kovalev over Hopkins
And what exactly does it have to do with Golovkin's skills ? Did he demonstrate some vulnerabilities allowing to think that Hopkins would beat him ?
Hopkins UD anyone who answers anything other than a Hopkins victory should be either banned or added to your ignore list immeditely.:deal
ripping on Hopkins best wins at mw then looking at golovkins best wins and then thinking atsch, Hopkins would shut him out completely, maybe golovkin gets him on a off night and it's gets really close on the scorecard but 9/10 Hopkins wins a a clear decision, the people that are saying golovkin by ko need to be taken out back and put down
Hopkin resume at middleweight is no worse than Golovkin's, infact it's better. Golovkin has too much activity? People said the same about Tito, said he'd wear out the old man down the stretch and BHop broke Tito down late in the fight. High volume punchers like Pavlik, Wright, Johnson etc all saw their work rates drop, even the non stop Calzaghe threw far less than he normally does. Also in 2001 Hopkins could still throw a ton of punches, 2 years later he threw 819 punches against Joppy a more than respectable 68 punches per round. Golovkin's work rate would be a non factor against a 2001 Hopkins who could match his work rate or make Golovkin throw far less. Too much power? Golovkin has to land the power first and even if he does when has Hopkins been stopped? He was almost 50 and even Kovalev couldn't put him away, maybe Golovkin can drop him, but no way he keeps BHop down, he's too durable and too good defensively. Hopkins was 40 years old when he fought Taylor and had slowed and his work rate had suffered. We are talking about 2001 Hopkins not the one in 2005. Tito was Hopkins best win at middleweight, he KO'ed Joppy something Taylor couldn't do, no other middlweight ever KO'ed Joppy. The Tito win is still better than anything on Golovkin's resume even if GGG goes on to beat Cotto or Canelo.
I really like both fighters At most I see Golovkin dropping him but that's doubtful Hopkins probably wins a competitive decision Golovkins jab makes this interesting
