Who wins: Andre SOG Ward vs Bad Chad Dawson

Dawson fought much better in the second Johnson fight than in fight 1.

I think people are underestimating the strength that Ward possesses, he was able to outmuscle every opponent he has come up against at Super Middleweight, that suggests to me that he would not struggle with the transition to Light Heavyweight if he's already pushing big strong guys like Kessler, Bika and to a lesser degree Froch back, it sure as hell isnt his punching power pushing those guys back. In all fairness to Dawson he is a a tidy boxer when given room to operate and he's most likely pick apart Ward if both fighters kept it at distance, the problem that Dawson has is Ward is so well rounded that if one gameplan wasnt working he wouldnt have trouble switching it up. Dawson does not like pressure and aggression as Pascal proved during Dawson's only defeat. Ward would relish the prospect of getting inside of Dawson and plain beating him up and after a close first half of the fight Ward would most likely sweep the rest of the rounds, his pysicality and toughness would intimidate Dawson who would resort to covering up and trying to catch Ward with the odd sharp 1 -2. I think Dawson is good, unfortunately for him Ward would prove to be better.

This will be a close fight and could possibly go to a split decision.

If Ward can rough up Dawson and not let him settle I think he would win this

I got Dawson. He is just as skilled, but bigger, stronger and has much more pop in his punches.

This is going to be the super fight in about two and a half years. Ward will have beaten Bute and Kessler again. Dawson will have beat Hops and one other fighter again, maybe Froch if he moved up.

 

I was at the second johnson fight, it was without a doubt the most boring title fight of the year. I basically paid 150 bucks to watch alfredo angulo brutally ko harry joe yorgey. he definitely fought much better, and smarter. my thing is, he wont be able to do what he did to johnson the second time around, against ward, and he most likely will be faced with a situation where he has to TAKE his win, and ward is always willing to do that, whereas chad has only done that once, and never since.

This was a fight Ward was actually REALLY keen for a couple of years ago. He was talking up the idea of a superfight between two undefeated champions to "unify" the SMW/LHW divisions.

A couple of months later Dawson fought Pascal.

Ward hasn't expressed much interest in moving up to LHW since.

 

Ward would kick his ass , a lot more intelligent, more heart. Both have all world talent, but i think Ward could impliment his gameplan more

 

I dunno this is a tough one. But one thing that I cannot get out of my mind was how devastating Bad Chad was at super middle. I picked Ward. It would really be a good, close fight. I cannot see Ward pushing Bad Chad around though.
