Mayweather never fought anyone close to a prime De La Hoya. He never fought anyone nearly as good. Thats not really debatable. I think Oscar would have overwhemed Floyd. People forget how good Oscar was offensively in his prime. He was a very confident, hungry fighter. He didnt have a great defence but there is nothing that would suggest that Floyd would have had enough power to get Oscars repect. I see Oscar walking through a lot of Floyds punches and pushing the action eventually getting to Floyd.

As great as Floyd is, he was even greater at LIGHTWEIGHT. Floyd, had more power at that weight and would stop DLH in 10 rounds.

Floyd has rarely ever stopped any elite fighter he has fought unless they were past their prime. No way he stops a prime Oscar. He couldnt stop an old Oscar so I just dont see it. Floyd has never been know for his power, and Oscar had a world class chin. IF Floyd did win it would be by a close decision.

Close fight, but I'd give the edge to Floyd. Considering old Pernell should have beaten Oscar, I suspect prime Floyd would have given him fits.

think de la hoya had to be the biggest super featherweight , lightweight ever see floyd taking this one as de la hoya wouldnt be strong enough at the weigh at 147 in de la hoyas prime id say he destroys floyd

Oscar was pretty green and a bit weight drained, I doubt he could beat Mayweather at his best.

Oscar wasn't a one handed fight at all. Many made that mistake.

lol...nobody is stopping oscar de la hoya at lightweight in his prime....
AND FLOYD WASN'T THAT GREAT AT LW..ONLY HAD 4 FIGHTS....U MIGHT BE THINKING ABOUT SFW
I think this fight is close to 50/50...i think oscar would be able to impose his size alot more on floyd....

But i think the speed factor would be huge still in favor of floyd..oscar was much faster on his feet, with much quicker hands when he was younger...

Still dont see oscar landing that left hook and dont see him taking it on points...

    Floyd sd

He struggled with Oscar's jab when Oscar was a part time fighter who wanted nothing more than to get back to ****ing Millie. However I do get that Floyd was fighting for his first time at 154 so no need to point that out.

How would Floyd deal with young Oscar's highly underrated hand speed coupled with the jab? Opinions?
