Seems like a 50/50 fight. I would favor Boytsov if his hands are not hurting. He's faster and more active then Puluev. I'm guessing a UD.
Pulev outpoints Boystov, he's the better technical fighter and wouldn't be the one looking for a KO win
I think Pulev would win a UD/MD He's more experienced (great amateur career) and proven (despite the fact that Boytsov has more pro fights...). He throws some crisp 1-2's and has a nice fast jab. He seems like a really tough fighter too. I think he'll beat Dimitrenko, so this fight might be happening sometime in the future.
I have to strongly disagree. Both fighters have fairly similar styles: Good balance & footwork, and they take their time in the ring. BUT - Pulev has a serious flaw in his defense when he attacks. He turns into Seth Mitchell, but with less power. Any good counter puncher would take him out easily, and Boytsov is a VERY good counterpuncher. Pulev's best chance would be to smother Denis early on, and try to take him out with a barrage of inside punches. I've never seen Boytsov have to defend against that kind of relentless offense, so maybe. But Pulev doesn't have ONE punch KO power (while Boytsov sure does) so it would HAVE to be a barrage of punches. - If Pulev makes one single mistake on the inside, Boytsov takes one step back & throws that patented counter right, and Pulev wakes up in 2013.
I'm not impressed with Boytsov ,but even less impressed with Pulev, I'd pick Boystsov to win by UD or late KO.
yeah If swarming slow bums in the corner is counterpunching, then he is indeed a great counterpuncher. terrible vCash total= **** knowledge
You have to go back a ways, to a fighter that actually tried to win against him. His last couple of fights were absurd, but that's because Greer and Guinn hardly threw any punches. You can't counter what isn't there. (duh.) Try the Garcia fight. IIRC, Boytsov repeatedly countered with both left & right hooks. As you go back further, you'll also see that he's been trained to almost "automatically" throw a left (either a stinging jab or a hook) whenever his opponent throws a right. Or watch the Sheppard fight, in which Boytsov KD'd him with a massive counter right, then KD'd him again with a straight right, and then KO'd him with a.. wait for it... a spectacular counter right to the body. If you're feeling rather foolish right now, there's good reason. Someday you'll understand this sport, I promise. :hi:
Pulev would win. He's a more complete fighter than Boytsov. Kubrat does some subtle stuff in the ring that Boytsov would not know how to effectively deal with.
i watched boytsov/guinn on youtube/ HES HORRIBLE.........PULUEV WOULD STICK THAT JAB IN HIS FACE ALL NITE LONG
