Who Wins Chavez V Duran At Lightweight :And Why?

I'm kind of surprised we didn't get this fight in the very late 90s /2000 as a nostalgic fight at some catchweight.

 

I'm glad we didn't . who wants to see a version
of Jones Jr vs Hopkins 2010, Duran vs Leonard
1989, or some other fight when both atg's
are clearly diminished.

 

Lol agreed, it may have been fun but definitely would of been sad.

 

Yeah but who really wants to see two old Relics have a go at each other. Sometimes fantasy matches as we call them are much more interesting to imagine if both past greats are in their respective heyday. It is like watching some up and comer destroying your favorite fighter who was well past his fighting prime, and then the victor of that fight gloats. To me it reminds me of tying the older fighters hands and allowing himself to get pummeled, no creditable victory. Anybody can assault the elderly, you hear about it all the time in Rest Homes as the result of the staff, tragic but true.

 

Really interesting post because I think a lot of people would favour Duran on the inside but you make a compelling case for Chavez.
