Hard to say - Clottey tends to start well and fade; however, I was not at all impressed with Berto's last fight. I think the fight would be boring - Clottey is very defensive, and Berto is clinch happy. I see them clinching and holding through the whole fight, with little flurrys here and there.
I believe there are two things in boxing that determine fights: hunger and respect. By hunger, you have to look at which fighter has more to gain and these days it is proving itself more and more. By respect, i mean how the other fighter views his opponent. I think that Clottey will respect Berto less than Berto will respect Clottey. I think Clottey will look past Berto but Berto may have too much respect for Clottey. I think as Berto steps up you will see that he will (and cannot) fight the way he has been fighting against lesser opponents. He has the skills, youth and talent to do well. I just hope he does not go "looking" for any knockouts. He can box his way to a lot of victories. I say he beats Clottey by close decision as long as he keeps his head straight and does not elect to go blow for blow.
Close call but I'll pick Clottey on this one. I'm not yet sold on Berto. He didn't impress me on his last fight. Clottey by SD. Only my opinion though.
ive got clottey as long as he doesn't slow down. tough call though. i could go either guy by SD. quite possible that berto outlasts him for the win.
