JC had a good win against a faded Eubank.
You know the same Eubank who wouldn't go near Roy Jones.
Pat Lawlor I believe his name was beat both DURAN and BENITEZ............granted they were miles past their best but still Pat can walk around and claim to have beaten two of the greatest boxers ever.
JC waited to meet certain boxers and that's the truth. Hopkins and Jones were not the same boxers when they met JC. They were PAST their primes.
I think that's why I always liked Froch- that man might not have been as skilled as JC but he fought the best and never backed down from anyone.

    Liles in 1996.

Dariusz in the U.S. in 2001.

A rematch with Bernard in 2002.

    Evander in 2003.

    You already know this.

You don't seem to understand. None of those fights happened. The common denominator was Jones. Are you able to see that?

How could the fights have happened, when they didn't want to fight him?

    Please explain, genius.

That's how I feel. He wanted no part of DM. That's how I always saw it.

And it's a damn shame because DM would have been the best scalp for RJJ at 175 and it would have been a great fight for the fans. Unreal that they couldn't make the fight.

    You're mistaken.

He wanted to fight Dariusz, but he didn't want to travel to Germany.

He did want to fight Bernard in 2002. It was Bernard who didn't want the fight.

You obviously didn't know what was happening behind the scenes at the time.

You have to look at things from the perspective of each guy.

Roy wouldn't travel to Germany. He has a big ego. At the time, he was the consensus no.1 P4P fighter in the world. He also had a better resume, and he owned all 3 of the major belts. On top of that, he had been robbed in the 88 Olympics, Germany was notorious for bad decisions, and he'd seen Dariusz play act to get Graciano Rocchigianni disqualified in their first fight. So he was well within his rights to not want to travel there. In 2001, he was quoted as saying: "I don't think a knockout would be enough over there"

Despite what he told the media, Dariusz wouldn't travel to America. He'd been unfairly stripped of 2 of his titles due to politics, and afterwards, he was more than content to just defend his lightly regarded WBO belt for good money, against B and C class fighters. Go and look at his resume. His intentions were clear.

If you want to know how serious a fighter is about trying to fight the best, then you go and analyse their actions. After failed negotiations, Roy tried to fight Bernard Hopkins. And when the fight couldn't be made, he then went and fought Ruiz and Tarver. Yet Dariusz went on to fight guys like Richard Hall and Derrick Harmon, guys who Roy had already beaten with absolute ease. It's very clear who wanted the big fights and who didn't.

From Dariusz's perspective, you can understand why he wouldn't have wanted to have fought Roy. I can't blame him. But he definitely deserves criticism for telling the media that he was willing to travel to America, when that was clearly not the case.
