You didnt "need" to save anything.

But sources are required if you provide specifics.

Jones & HBO came across as incredibly arrogant lying frauds in pretending DM didn't exist & that Jones was the "undisputed champion". Jones would obviously start as clear favourite, tho home advantage would greatly increase DM's chances. Awesome matchup.

Some of you need to watch fights before you talk.

DM has PLENTY of 1 PUNCH KO victims.

And if it aint from 1 punch they would either fold from the battering or there faces would end up disfigured.

    My issue is twofold:

    1) Jones never displayed any chin problems until after the Ruiz fight. Sure, you can argue that they were always there and that his speed just masked it, but he wasn't showing problems even when he first started to slow down and get tagged.

    2) Even if he was chinny, I don't think DM punched that much harder or quicker than a lot of Jones' other opponents. Sure, he's more accurate, but people act like Jones never got hit by a clean punch in 10 years. He was decked on the jaw plenty of times, and he never was wobbled or knocked out until late in his career. While I think DM would have given Jones more problems than most of his opponents, he still wasn't well equipped to deal with Jones' speed, and I don't think he was such a beast that he would have knocked out Jones if he was able to land.

I see Jones winning a 9-3 or 8-4 type of decision.

It's just a damn shame that the two of them never settled it in the ring. Not facing each other will always be the biggest black mark on each of their records, lack of mutual interest be damned.

I favor Roy on points also but people want to write DM off as if he was a nobody. There is GOOD reason why these discussions pop up.IMO DM came along about 10 years too early. He would no doubt be appreciated today if he were prime.

Lou Del Valle put him down and Griffin gave him hell in the first fight.Roy was a beast but not untouchable as some make him out to be.

Fact of the matter is that DM was the CHAMP at 175 while ROY was the STAR.

Both are to blame although i feel Roy had more incentive to prove people wrong and to actually beat the Champ instead of collecting wrogfully stripeed belts and then parading them around as if the REAL champ dont exist.

The ABC in the early to mid 90's didnt want there belts in the hands of someone that would never be seen on TV so they stripped him in order to let the STAR have the belts so they can make more money...imagine something like this happenening today.

THis fight would be a rerun of

    Mayweather -Hatton

Michelcewski would make Jones feel the heat early, Jones would pot shot landing real clean and start taking Dariuz apart late on a wide UD or late stoppage.

Ashame Dariuz didnt jump pond to take on the P4P king, but then again thats where the similarity with Hatton ends....Hatton had balls wasnt as much a marketing gimmick.

The only name on Daz' record was Virgil Hill.

Jone was already P4P, when moving to light heavy...he beat better opposition at Light heavy, also moved upto Heavy.

Darius hid behind the WBO belt like Ottke and Calzaghe....recently that other WBO ZOLT ERDIE

why jump over when you can make easy money at home....and almost break Marcianos record....rofl....ashame he slipped up against Julio Gonzalez....(even a shot Jones wouldnt lose to him) lol

Oh... I never saw Roy vacate his belts when he was champ.

fact of the matter is DM was the MAN at 175 while Roy was the star.

all the he beat better opposition, was P4P,beat Ruiz has nothing to do with the simple fact that at 175 DM was the man!:deal

the fact is that they ducked each other but if DM really wanted to reach another level he wouldve came to the states to fight the best pound for pound fighter in the world but he didnt he was happy fighting Jones leftovers in germany.

history will show that he beat Virgil to become the MAN before Roy ever got to him.

DM didnt reach that other level but FACT OF THE MATTER is he was the MAN at 175!:deal

What does it matter being the man at 175 compared with being the best fighter in the world, given the choice between those two options i know what i would rather be.

Bladerunner i always love ur avatars, i wanna thank you hahaha

Anyways its a shame the two never met, this thread is brought up every couple of months, i favor jones in this fight, but honesty i would love to see this. Its one of those fights that NEEDED to happen, which never did. And the matter of fact to our prediction, theres only so much our analysis can do, it will never happen :-(
