There are cuban nuthuggers that take it a bit too far. I am cuban and support all cuban fighters, and if pascal/despaigne fought today i would no doubt cheer for my fellow countrymen, but despaigne is the least skilled of the cubans that have come and as of now, has not proved to be able to beat the A level. Although pascal is not that great of a fighter. With that said, Yordanis only loss to silakh is nothing to be ashamed of. Ismael is a very good fighter.
I'm from Chicago and I would cheer Molina in a fight against PAC or Floyd or Martinez, but I wouldn't check his name in a poll.
Hate to say it but being that boxing requires more depth of skill to reach the elite ranks, he should go into MMA where his athleticism and power could carry him further.
While I disagree completely, it's funny you mentioned it because it wasn't too long ago that that viewpoint was shared by Teddy Atlas. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kqlRy9AD50[/ame]
Disagree, solid defensive skills, nice counters, good overhand right, double jab, left hook to the body, he's just not very fast or hits very hard. Solid B+ contender, would lose to the elite but give A- level fighters a run for their money. What he needs to do is open up more and bring the fight to the opponent, even though Juan Manuel Marquez is a natural counterpuncher he creates intensity therefore opportunities to counter. Vs. Pascal it'd be a nice war like vs. Froch unless Jean decides to move around the ring and jump in occasionally, making it less intense. But it's a good fight anyway.
I think Pascal would win, but not by KO. He can't do what Sillakh did to him, and Sillakh didn't even knock him out (though he probably could have if he stepped on the gas a bit). Despaingne has never been KO'd as an amateur in 300+ fights and he fought some very good fighters and has only been down once in his career.
