Did I ever tell anyone that Joe Calzaghe et al used to run past my parents' house every day when they were at the old gym in Newbridge?

In the early days, it was just him and his dad Enzo. But then there were a few others like Bradley Pryce, Gavin Rees and a few other locals who never made it (Bradley's brothers were ****heads). I often used to see Joe in his sweatsuit trying to boil down in weight. I live atop a very steep hill which nobody else could even walk up let alone run.

In 2002, the old gym closed because it was unsafe and the boxers moved to an old rugby club very close to where my Nan used to live in Abercarn. I don't think my Nan ever saw them running there but my Uncle did a few times when he was playing Bowls.

Barry Mugain only popped down to the gym years ago - maybe even as far back as the 80's.

the taxi was not from Colin Jones cars sales -it was a random taxi from Swansea Cab rank

But I will tell you a little tale about this

and it is 100% true

Me and My brother came out of a nightclub in Swansea City Centre - Fat Joe is my brother.

We were standing talking to this guy and who walks up - Colin Jones - in the middle of town - he says to this guy he knows - he off to get a Curry

anyway a while later we got in the taxi queue with hundreds of people there and as we went to get in the taxi there was this girl who was just before us and was going to the same place

so we jumped in the taxi with her

got talking

turns out it was Colin Jones daughter

we got the taxi to Colin Jones mansion - then I walked up from there to my humble semi detached house.

 

I remember laughing a lot at that one

 

any checks carried out will only confirm the truth of what I say

I was also in the same class in school as Colin Jones niece

and worked with Colin Jones nephew on my school work experience up in B&Q years ago

Colin Jones nephew use to box at the gym behind my back garden as well

No I would not try this - I was only friendly and respectful to the young woman - and thats all I'm going to say on that.

 

Flint missed one part of the story out. This is the last thing I am going to mention about this as I don't want Jones to knock me out in the street.

As Jones was walking past to go get his curry, a pissed up Flint leaned over the railings and taunted "Jones Junior, Jones Junior, Roy Jones Junior". I don't know what Flint was implying but luckily for him Jones was too pissed to take any notice of him.

 

Well Fat Joe - you know thats not the end of the stroy - the saga ended up spilling onto the magazines and TV screens.

But we wont bother going into that - because no-one will believe us anyway
