Yes, the guy does keep proving me wrong. The guy has a good heart and chin and he has the balls to take on the best. He will lose and as you point out, there is no shame in that, everyone loses. But I think he would lose to any number of SMWs out there, not just the top guys. But now I sound like a broken record. I think it's a bit of stretch to say that Froch has reached the top of the pile. He's had a bunch of wins against very medicore local fighters, one win against a reasonable opponant, and one great win against a guy that just got smashed twice by a fairly limited tall white guy from Youngstown. I don't see SMW as being an overly strong division. There is a bunch of unproven up and coming fighters and two champions that have a lot of potential but are yet to solidify any sort of legacy. There is a complete lack of proven champs and legends when compared to the LW or WW divisions for example.

The character flaws which Froch exploited had already been seen in both Pascal and Taylor. So far Bute has not shown that kind of weakness.

Froch definately has a better chin. But lets keep in mind that Froch's heart is only heralded so much because he keeps getting smashed and having to dig deep to stay in the fight. Froch probably has the marginally better power. Bute has the better workrate. But all that means **** all if Froch can't land a glove on Bute and Bute peppers him from the outside and moves, and utililises his far superior speed, skills and defence.

No weakness displayed in the Andrade fight?????:huh

As an aside I don't have any problem with Bute winning that fight. He beat the count and while the ref seemed to be doing all he could to assist him, when Bute was floored there was less than 10secs to go and he make it up before the bell, so it's a win for me.

Froch would have finished him off though

How many Froch fights have you actually watched ??? I've seen all his fights, amateur and pro, some in the flesh and the rest on tv.Froch has barely had a glove laid on him with exception of the Taylor and Pascal fights. The cynics have been waiting and hoping he gets beaten since early in his career, and he is still unbeaten.

P.S im no Brit nuthugger, just a person who has studied and been involved in the sport for 30+ years,i tell it how i see it,and never let race, creed, colour or Nationality cloud the truth.Froch has earn't his world title and defended it the hard way.GET OVER IT!!

The thing is that now that Bute has lived through getting floored, knowing he shouldn't have exchange with Andrade in the last round, he won't do that mistake again, because he's a fairly intelligent boxer and so is his trainer, Stephan Larouche.

That being said, Froch could still land a big punch and KO Bute but I'm pretty sure he will receive a boxing lesson. Bute wide UD.

No weakness of character. He merely did something stupid which he is unlikely to do in the rematch. Did Bute win the fight? As I recall the referee said the number 10. Doesn't that mean the fight is over? :huh

Bute made no mistake vs. Andrade, you Bute fans gotta look from another perspective. Librado put on pressure nobody except Kessler could deal with, and Bute had nothing left in the tank in the final minutes. The warrior in him fought back, but having stamina issues was no mistake, but the very overlooked effect of the great pressure fighter in work. If Librado can put on more pressure in the rematch, stay in pocket, trade and never stop punching, he will win by late fight knockout, but Bute will have a word or two to say about that.

On the other hand, Froch doesn't put on the 3rd of the pressure Andrade applies and he's smaller, physically weaker and has a worse chin than Andrade. Carl Froch cannot withstand the same beating Andrade took up to the last rounds. I seriously think Bute would stop Froch, Lucian is an excellent body puncher and an even better finisher, I only see Kessler clearly beating him at 168, with the Andrade rematch being 50-50, I think he decisively beats the rest.

If the fight happens, people will be shocked. Bute by knockout.

Very good post. To top it off I'd add that Andrade is even better today than he was against Bute, and he was even better against Bute than he was against Kessler. His offensive and defensive skills are developping and he still has the same amazing chin and stamina.

Bute takes Froch to school and knocks him out. Andrade vs Bute is more of a ?. Andrade would knock Froch out as well.

Froch will finish what Andrade started.

    Froch KO 9

Bute only fought one dimensional fighters (Bika, Berrio, Andrade). You will see what i mean against the Cobra. He has absolutely no inside-fighting.
