S'true .Boxing history is littered with instance s like that. Sharkey should never have being KO'd by primo.Ali and Spinks .McCall koing Lewis. These things happen in boxing and it did with Baer .In a return match Maxi gets his self together and whips Braddock.

You can agree or not.. Anyway it is irrelevant... The complete forum could disagree .. Still it means nothing.. Braddock did beat max and any other thing that could happen is speculation...

That's true, Kirkland Laing beat Roberto Duran. Rahman KO'ed Lennox Lewis. They were not the better fighters though. ….and in the Lewis rematch....?

Yeah, and Max ended with half the losses that your mediocrity had despite fighting more fights. They dont call him the cinderella man because he was some badass. They call him that because he was a bum who got lucky the one night of his career that it mattered. People legitimately wonder how Max would perform in fantasy matchups. The only thing they wonder about Braddock is if he would get lucky again because if he performed as per usual theres a high probability he loses.

I honestly think Fitz and Braddock could do it again.

Fitz wasn't as fast but was the cleverer fighter, I think he likely could have done it quicker. Fitz was just someone that found a way to win.

A fit Braddock wasn't someone to be beaten easilly. He put in a very good effort against Louis and he was a mess for that one. Hard to pick as they're both pretty inconsistent.

I think he was at his best mediocre. Bum maybe a strong word but a lot of people seem to mistake his interesting story for actual ability. He was very very limited and I cant think of a single heavyweight champion off the top of my head that Id favor him over. I wouldnt even favor him to beat the diminutive Tommy Burns.

He is certainly one of the less stellar heavyweight champs.

The difference is that lewis and rahman actually did fight a rematch, not even similar.. You are comparing facts with speculation and fantasy

I've always read that Baer being part Jewish was pure myth. Has his son ever commented on this?
