I'll wait and see how Eubank Jr deals with Groves first, hopefully we'll see Eubank's chin tested too, make no mistake, Groves is a bigger test for Eubank than BJS was. But that doesn't mean Groves will win.

If Eubank does have a solid chin, as some suspect he does, that would be bad news for GGG as he will surely lose on points, otherwise GGG catches him and KOs him. Really all comes down to if Eubank can take his bombs.

Hopefully we have at least some idea after the Groves fight what Eubank's chin is like.

Very fair post. I'm in the camp that thinks Eubank is granite and has his old man's toughness hence my confidence that he deals with GGG.

I would have said the same before the fight. I was one of the people who said beforehand that Yildrim is a plodder who is not going to trouble Eubank, at best he might win a few late rounds, at best, with Eubank winning all the early rounds, but as it turned out it didn't even get that far. I absolutely knew people were overestimating Yildrim and severely underestimating Jr.

Don't let Eubank's defeat to BJS fool you either, BJS might have won a tippy tappy contest in the first 6 rounds, maybe, but Eubank wont make that mistake again, he won all the later rounds with the cleaner harder shots, but lost a split decision because he left it too late and it was too close on the scorecards, could have gone either way but that's just the way it goes.

Eubank has increased his output massively since, it is about similar to GGG but the difference is Eubank is throwing a lot more shots on the inside which the judges will favour to GGG's jab, just a question of how good his chin is.

Gonna be a good fight against Groves first anyway, looking forward to that, their styles will really make for a classic I think, not really any point thinking about GGG/Eubank till we've seen Groves/Eubank first. That will be Eubank's best opponent to date.

Eubank was fighting a fighter right in front of him and Eubank still got hit alot in this fight and how good is yildirim golovkin would stop every fighter on Eubank record including Abraham golovkin would stick the jab in Eubank face all night and make him Pay Eubank is wide open

How are you defining "hit a lot"? The fight is on youtube, where exactly in the fight are you seeing all these shots Eubank was getting caught with?

He got caught with nothing meaningful.

Eubank fights on the inside so of course he will occasionally get caught, but he gets caught with surprisingly little for someone with his style.

Again though, I'll have to wait and see how he handles Groves as he will hit back (I just don't know if Groves will be busy enough for 12 rounds though).

For Yildirim been so basic he took to many shots and he was winging away wide open you don't do that against golovkin

And the groves fight as soon as groves starts making him miss and lands the jab over and over eubanks Wild winging punchers will stop he looks a million dollars when the guys right there let's see him when his getting hurt with every shot and just look at the Saunders fight he was lost in there Until Saunders terrible gas tank ran out and that's the last boxer he fought

Eubank was getting caught a bit by BJS' tippy tappy jab, but nothing major, he didn't really get going to the 2nd half of the fight where he took over. I certainly didn't see any signs that BJS was gassing, Eubank just stepped it up. He definitely left it too late, and paid for it losing a close split decision but he has been much busier in his fights since and doubt he'll make the same mistake again of starting too slow.

But you didn't answer my question, where are all these shots that Eubank got caught with tonight?

I like Eubank but I have to see how he does vs Groves & maybe Smith. Most of his opponents have the same high guard, plod forward style. He needs to face some different styles.

Eubank has fought noone yet, the only big fight he was involved in, he lost. Abraham would have been a big fight 4-5 years ago when Arthur wasn't yet washed up, I would still pick GGG to win in 2018 and 2019, I don't think GGG is getting worse just yet, he still has 2 years left in him at the very elite level, he just started fighting better opposition recently so of course he won't look as good, Eubank still got hit almost as many times as he hit Yildrim so if some random egyptian with no B+ or higher fighters on his list can hit Eubank this many times then I'm afraid Chris would have no chance against GGG who has a great output of punches as well.

There is a reason why GGG is the most ducked fighter in world boxing and an elite fighter waited until he was 35 to fight him.

Eubank Jr gets beaten up and stopped inside 7-8 rounds. He is made to measure for GGG.

    That Turkish bum was braindead.

Golovkin flew all the way to the UK to sign the contract to fight Eubank, but Eubank ran like hell! Eubank had the contract, all he had to do was sign it. After claiming he wanted to fight Golovkin, he chickened out!

I think Golovkin's jab makes the difference in this match-up. Without GGG's jab Eubank could have dealt a lot more damage and perhaps even outworked Golovkin to a decision win.

Considering how good Golovkin's jab actually is, and the fact that Eubank's footwork isn't that good, I can't see Jr. getting past the jab, even if he is a faster puncher. This could go the distance but I think Golovkin has too much for Eubank and stops him late.
