Who wins in their prime Andre “SOG” Ward vs Super Joe Calzaghe

Ward only had 8 fights in Oakland. Not a single fight in Oaktown was a controversial decision.

I was looking for someone to point this out. 100% hit the nail on the head.

 

It wasnt that decisions were controversial, it was that Ward was allowed to break rules especially low blows like in the Bika fight. He lost no points and I dont think he even got a warning. That is home cooking.

Same could be said for the Kovalev 2 fight obviously

 

He threw low blows in virtually every fight he had either in the groin or the thigh. This isnt even debatable and can be seen literally in almost any fight he had

 

Check the Bikia fight too.

 

Wow, I am really surprised the voting is almost 2 to 1 in favor of Calzaghe. I just don't see it.

 

You made to comment about Ward's hometown of Oakland and home cooking. I just pointed to the fact Ward only had 8 fights in Oakland. I find it difficult to believe that all 8 fights were controversial. You mentioned Bika, ok that's 1 fight in Oakland. Don't think that's enough to say the man was getting home cooking all to often.

I'm not running through/digging up fights from 10+ yrs ago. Bika was a foul-filled fight where Ward could do no wrong. Kovalev 1 shouldve been a loss and Kovalev 2 shouldve had warnings or point deduction(s). I do NOT think the ending sequence was necessarily a DQ. Shouldve been a foul and Kovalev given 5 minutes or at least a standing count/KD. Horrible officiating...I think by Weekes? Yeah just searched it - Tony Weekes sucks.
