Who Wins Klitschko-Haye?

I think Wlad will win by KO, Haye has a good chance of scoring a KO but I can't see him getting past the jab to land a great shot, unless he has a brilliant gameplan of course where he can open Wlad up a little bit.

i picked Wlad bui not a confident pick and due to this being his biggest fight i can remember

 

Wlad has beaten at least three fighter who were posed bigger challenges than Haye.
(Peter, Chagaev and Byrd).

And he has improved since then.

In the normal run of things, this would be a shutout till the mid-rounds KO. But given all the hype, and Wlad's promise to punish Haye for twelve rounds (a la Ali-Terrell), this could go longer than really necessary.

Haye has neither the boxing skills to outpoint Wlad, nor the power to KO him.

He is sufficiently chinny that he could be KO'd early if Wlad decides to go for it.


I will give Haye credit for parlaying his success so far into the kind of purse this bout will undoubtedly bring.

 

Even though im a Haye fan, i've been picking Wlad up till this point. Im changing my pick to Haye now. I like the way his attitude has changed. He's locked himself away to focus on the fight, his sparring partners make perfect sense and the Dark Lord always has an influence.

The problem here is that Wlad seems to be stylistically tailor made for Haye.

Remember tall guys who rely on their jab - Enzo, Harrison, Gurov, Valuev. Haye felt like fish in water with thos guys in there. He specializes on countering the jab with hard overhand shots.

On the contrary shorter stocky guys like Thompson, Fragomeni, Mormeck gave him a lot of problems. Against these type of fighters Haye felt quite uncomfortable and even visited the canvas on a regular basis, despite eventually beating some. But we all know Wlad fights nothing like those guys did.

Now Wlad's got a great jab and pretty quick movement with getting in and out when he wants, while Haye is an ani-jab specialist. On paper it gives a stylistic edge to Haye. So to me this fight is a toss up quite frankly. I'm pretty sure that deep down the majority of people feel the same. And that's exactly what makes this match up so interesting.

Its not really a big risk at all for Haye. He's clearly the underdog no doubt about it, his title run thus far has been seen as somewhat of a mockery by a large number of fans after his fight with Harrison. If anything this is more of a risk for Wladimir. He's shown his vunerability upon being hit in the three bouts he has lost and in his first fight with Peter. His legacy also rests upon shaky ground due to these losses and his level of competition, now he is facing an opponent with certain physical tools that could very well trouble him. If he loses this, what does it do for Wladimir? It could very well impact upon how he is remembered. Is he the champion who was vunerable in his youth but grow into a truly sound technician and clearly the best heavyweight since Lewis, or does is he the Champion who filled the spot because his competition was that bad and he had no real challenger, a filler if you will.

For Haye if he loses, hey he intended to retire early with his cash in pockets. If he wins then, hey he retires early with his cash in his pockets and the name of an ATG heavyweight pretender on his name. If any thing I think this is a bigger risk for Wladimir. I stick by what I said though, I think Wladimir will win the fight once he starts to land the right.
