Yes he lost the decision and the biggest factor was the number of KD's. atsch Talk about glossing over the details. Lemieux beat him on all counts on the other hand, it was a far more thorough performance.
when this forum is primarily 99% ggg fans, what do you expect? they're not even lemieux fans, if GGG knocked Quillin out, and Jacobs knocked Lemieux out we all know what this poll would say.
While I mostly agree with your statement, I don't see anything to suggest Quillin is much better than Lemieux and vice versa. Maybe It'd be fair to say Quillin has the better skill-set, Lemieux is more durable.
This forum is not 99% GGG fans. There is 1% of GGG haters and 99% of BOXING fans who naturally like one of the most exciting fighters in current boxing. I am in fact a GGG fan, but most of people who confront haters like ellerbe aren't.
quillin never had any heart. his power is vastly overrated, has a glass jaw, and very little skill at the top level. lemieux would have simply been another of his list of ducks.
Peter Chocolate has whisker issues. He's been wobbled and badly hurt, dropped or stopped by almost every puncher he's fought. In fact, he's even been wobbled and badly hurt by single shots from guys that are not regarded as punchers at all. A respected fight scribe recently said there had been rumours circulating for years regarding him having a dodgy beard and that it had already been exposed during sparring whilst wearing pillows and heard guards. Lee dropped him. Jacobs smoked him in a round. And if you consider Dionisio Miranda a puncher, he hurt him badly with a single shot and had him ''out on his feet'' too. Gabe Rosado who nobody would deem a puncher wobbled him and hurt him badly with a single shot too. Luckily for him it happened right at the end of the round. Rosado may well have got him out of had it happened earlier in the round. There was just under 30 seconds left in the round when Lee dropped him as well, 15 when the ref finished the count and waved them back on. Against Jacobs, Chocolate was caught early in the round. He would've made it back to his stool against him too had he been caught at the end of the round like he was against Rosado and Lee. Lemieux is most definitely a puncher and a very explosive one at that who scores highlight reel KOs and KDs for fun. He has vicious power in both hands and can take you out with either of them, head or body. Yes he was stopped by Rubio but that was more to do with combination of him running out of steam and being clipped round the back of the head than any underlying issues with his whiskers. Don't forget that was a 22 year old Lemieux who wasn't as big or physically mature as he is now and who was 25-0 (24 KOs) and had finished 21 of his 24 stoppage victims within 3 rounds and had only been past 4 rounds twice and past 5 once. Lemieux stood up very well to the savage hitting Golovkin's power ie. the guy who sparked Ishida out cold with a single right hand aka the same Ishida who went the distance with Jacobs' surrogate father Pirog in his previous fight and never hit the canvas once. He also stood up well to some huge right hands Rubio detonated on his chin prior to the KD as well. I can't see Peter Chocolate taking those shots. It's plain to see just going by Peter Chocolate's in ring body language that he's plagued with self-doubt regarding his mandibular fortitude. There's a reason why his eyes turn to saucers and are riddled with fear a lot of the time when he's in there. His legs have betrayed him on three of the four occasions he's been hurt too. I honestly believe Lemieux would spark him out cold Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey style if they fought (although obviously with a punch as opposed to a kick) not just get him out of there. Yes Chocolate can punch too but Lemieux's whiskers and legs are more sturdy than his and I don't recall seeing Davey start chicken dancing when clipped either. He also doesn't have the fear of god in his eyes when in against a puncher either. Peter Chocolate often has that look in his eyes regardless if the guy standing in the opposite corner is a puncher or not. Don't forget that Lemieux had no qualms about getting in there with Golovkin. He said he would and that's exactly what he did when it was time to do so. He jumped at the chance even though Golovkin had blown out the guy who beat him with ease with a single left hand in a couple of rounds, whereas Chocolate has clearly been scared out of his wits at the idea of going anywhere near Golovkin for years, including turning down a shot at him prior to him owning his own strap and the onset of the Cold War. He felt Golovkin's power first hand in sparring and he said I don't want any part of him thank you very much. Not in this life time, bro :yep
