Who wins my fantasy middleweight super series?

All fighters would have to be clean, with random testing right up to the day of the fight.

There would be no rehydration funny business either.

The fighter has to make 160 at a weigh in 30 minutes before the ring walks.

No, I agree.

I think Eubank is only going to stagnate at this point.

His natural instinct is to stand and trade, and I don't think you can take that from him this late in his career, and maybe you shouldn't want to.

It's what he does best, albeit not at a level good enough to ever beat the elite guys.

Eubank is another one who made bold claims about beating GGG and Canelo, but will end up retiring without facing either of them.

Like Wilder and the fact I don't see him ever facing Whyte or Joshua.

 

I agree, he definitely has the guts.

But, like you say, he allowed his father to take control and it cost him.

 

I suppose we can just assume they are all clean and 160 during the ring walk.

The fact we have to discount so many fighters, and a few from the list here, is a quite sad when you think about it.

Still, as it's all in fun and is a fantasy series we will give them all the benefit of the doubt and assume they are all clean and on the 160 limit.

Of course, the frustrating thing is how exactly do we judge Canelo relative to these other greats?

How can we know what a "clean" Alvarez, who hasn't spent the 24-36 hours between the official weigh in and the start of the fight bulking up, is actually capable of against men like Hagler, or Benn, or Toney?

Exactly how diminished as a fighter is he if he can't use the extra boost that comes with PEDs (and we are assuming he is roided to the gills) and can't outweigh a genuine 160 pounder by 15+ because of the ridiculous amount of time between weigh in and fight time?

It all gets very messy, doesn't it?

I wonder, how many of the greats of the last 30-40 years HAVEN'T been using performance enhancing drugs?
