He had a cold and it was 40degrees here in Perth for the Sullivan fight, he was dehydrated because he was trying so hard to knock him out and couldn't. He dropped Beyer who doesn't have the strongest chin, Beyer started to outbox him so Greeny the lowlife started to use his head as a weapon and not in an intellectual manner. The rematch had Beyer boxing the **** out of Green all night. I know all about Green you dummy, he's never been a good fighter. He's a stiff who is an overrated puncher who can be beaten by anybody who can box a little bit. Glen Johnson punches harder than him ffs. He is a journeyman, nothing more. Who has he beaten? He punched Roy Jones behind the ear and it didn't even keep him down, even with Roy being as chinny as he is.
Well, I haven't felt Green's punches myself. But I saw him destroy Beyer and Lucas. I've lost count of the number of his fights I have seen. I also have read the opinions of people who matter who are unanimous in calling Green a huge puncher. I have read your opinion that he is not. I've weighed up your opinion against the opinion of boxers who have actually felt his punch. You are plainly and simply mistaken.
Obviously he can punch a little bit but he is not a murderous puncher as some people like to make out. He didn't knock out Beyer, you saw Kessler who isn't a huge puncher just about decapitate Beyer. Lucas was apparently quite unwell in the fight against Green, you seem to want to bring up excuses. Lucas didn't get even get knocked down by Green, he took a knee and didn't want to continue. Who has Green knocked out with one punch? NO-ONE. He could never crack Hopkins chin, even if Hopkins gave him a free shot.
You are moving onto a different question now, about how Green would do against Hopkins. I can't see Green knocking him out. Even though he is fading, I still think Bhop is crafty enough to avoid getting too many flush powershots. I also know that you dont think Bhop is fading. That's cool, I am happy to agree to disagree on that.
Least I said I am bias and a green fan unlike yourself who clearly hates Green and that makes your thoughts on the fight just as clouded as mine but least I can say my thoughts are clouded.
I dont think he hates green. He makes good points green is overrated and doesnt do anything great a borderline journeyman even his punching power is average. Hopkins at this age would out box him and if they fought again i would favour jones to out box him.
Green is hardly over-rated here. He gets called a bum over and over again. At his best he was really quite good. Right now, he is one of the better cruiserweights - which doesn't mean much as it is the emptiest division in boxing. But he really is not over-rated, people here are way too quick to say he is totally ****. I mean he gets zero respect. People who know nothing about him label him as a nothing, nobody loser. For every person you see saying that he is better than he is, you will find five saying he is much worse.
Who cares. Hopkins is now irrelevant, and Green is a fringe contender living off a win over Roy's corpse. Let Hopkins retire and Green fight some real contenders, nobody wants to see this ****. In answer to the question however, Hopkins eeks out a DQ win.
Green would never win and it wouldn't be a good fight for Hopkins either. Hopkins was punched hard behind the head at least in the 8th round and Roy was hit by Green on the side of the head. Danny couldn't believe he had Roy stopped after that salvo and even after landing that right hand that had him down... You don't give big fights to these guys just cause they had a great win. Remember "The Boogie Man " Jesse Ferguson who outpointed Mercer after losing 4 fights and then he got that shot at Bowe... Even Bowe didn't win nothing with that... Hey, Bernard doesn't get caught by Green and the Aussie loses almost every single round.
Look son go let the grown ups talk and go tell your mummy to go and get your bed time story ready or at least put up a good reason you D!ck As for everyone else saying Hop would still smack Green thats fine. You can have your thoughts on this like everyone said Roy was gonna smack Green and then he moment he lost they all made excuses for him.
Hopkins might win a close decision...I don't see this one being easy at all. Green's big, powerful, and can take Hopkins' punches. If this took place in 2006-2008, I'd say Green loses wide on the scorecards as he is the type of fighter B-Hop used to pick apart effortlessly, but after seeing Hopkins look like utter **** against Ornelas and look average against RJJ, I think he's aging very rapidly. It's all downhill from here if he fights on - which is to be expected. He's 45 ffs.
