Rewatch the Sanchez fight and try to understand that the reason why Pac had trouble wasn't only because Sanchez was fighting dirty. Pac was very flawed at 122, relentless/hungry and talented, but still very flawed and a fight against Guzman would be the worst possible matchup for him.

and you're a guzman ***** so there's no point in arguing with you too anyway. :rofl you already have guzman as a future ATG so that says it all.

agree. to add one thing tho, guzman was never a sweet boxer. he had a good footwork but it was never the bread and butter of his offense (especially at 122). when he plants his feet to unload his power punches, pac would have all day to tag him with his combos (pac can beat guzman to the punch anythime). and pac needs only one punch to rattle his opponent untill the inevitable ko.

Guzman's best shot would be the 122lb Pac, because Guzman's power would have carried more impact and because, as you said, Pac was a basic fighter at that point.

I very much disagree with the idea that Pac was at his best at 122lbs. He may have had more spectacular KO's and been very fast, but he was vulnerable to the technician with a solid chin (Guzman, for example). He is a much better fighter at the higher weights and with some more depth added to his game.

Pacquiao at 122 is very raw fighter and not as accurate as the Pacman we have today. Power is beyond question.

This is the weigh class where Nedal Hussein floored him with a right straight in the fourth round when they fought in Manila. This also the weight class where the dirty Agapito Sanchez fought him to a draw.

In short this is not Pac's best weigh class while on the other side this is Rafa's home weight.

    Rafa by K.O. :yep

I think it would be a hard fought fight with two bloody warriors. Pac would get the UD.

Yeah, try getting hit in the balls 9 times and see if that doesn't drain you. I watched that fight and I specifically recall the Lampley gang denouncing the outcome (Draw, not a single point-deduction from Sanchez.)

Besides that, why compare Pac's skills at 122 and a current Guzman? Earlier in his career, he often dropped his hands since he preferred the shoulder roll as defense. This is a big NO when facing the speed and power of PAC @ 122. This was around 2001. Guzman's biggest win prior was Avila, which makes his level of competition worse than Pacquiao's.

Pacquioa by KO. His best weight. And while flawed as a technician, he had such great power and speed that any fighter who stood in front of him would most likely be stopped. Vasquez fits that description.....

Vazquez is a good boxer who can take a hell of a punch and dish out punches that can hurt anybody easily. My pick goes to Izzy in a tough fight where he finds his momentum against Pacquiao's 1-2s.

Vazquez's boxing ability is underrated and Pacquiao never fought anybody of his level at this weight.
