IN MY OPINION PAVLIK LOOKED LIKE HE HAD ALOT OF RING RUST DURING THE EARLIER ROUNDS. IN A REMATCH IM VERY CONFIDENT PAVLIK KNOCKS OUT MARTINEZ. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHT? WHO WINS REMATCH AND HOW?:bbb

    Nah, no ring rust.

Pavlik (assuming he could still make 160) would have a puncher's chance, as Martinez is always liable to jump into a straight right hand with his style...but his chin's too good, his recovery's too good, and he's too damn fast. I don't see Kelly knocking him out easily, even tweaking his gameplan and having a better camp. And obviously Sergio knows which rounds to rack up points by twisting up a slower man's feet, and which rounds to fight. A Pavlik decision is even less likely than a KO.

Martinez, for his part, wouldn't change a thing in a rematch...but wouldn't need to. Like I said, the one and only risk is his face colliding with a right without his feet firmly beneath him.

Pavlik will have trouble with the weight again, Martinez will make almost every round look like the 9th round in their first and will earn a mid to late round stoppage.

i think pavlik has a shot. depends on his confidence level & if martinez cuts him with every punch he throws. i don't know what that was all about. if pav can maintain what he did in the middle rounds, then he can win a decision.

Pavlik didn't land one good punch last night. That KD should've been ruled a slip. I thought Pavlik only won 3 rounds, 4 maximum. Pavlik would do worse in a rematch.

    Martinez outclasses him every time.

Man, for me that is a hard one. Much props and respect for Martinez's win. I was surprised by it, but then again im surprised by a lot of things. Pavlik indicated in the post fight interview he would be interested in the rematch clause. he would have to fight a very different fight than last night to win. I want to see a rematch with Williams. I think Martinez won the first fight with Williams and will win a rematch.

Effective speed and movement seemingly is the foundation of what's necessary to beat Pavlik. Martinez is quite perceptive in both of those areas. I envision a similar outcome if these 2 fight again at 160.

Pavlik doesn't have the phisical skills to hang with martinez. His feet are terrible and I think it is more of a lack of athleticism rather than technique kind of problem.

Perhaps he could get a decsiion but I think Pavlik is in his own head bigtime now.

if pavlik doesn't get cut then it could have been a different fight, but if martinez's punches could cut pavlik in one fight they could cut him in another.
